of course they are going cuz they got somthing to show. I dont know about EA but i kno sony got some gd new exclusives to show. Nintendo will not because they got nothing show but mario games lol.Nintendo fans are the most screwed the only thing they get is mario games each month feel sry for them. M.S i dont need to say they got the same exclusives each year Halo, GOW, Forza.... Its like a none stop rotation because of the lack of gd exclusives like sony
I suspect Sony is going to use Gamescom this year for PSV news, and European developed PS3 games. And probably even a price cut to the PS3 and Move related items.
Something like Sucker Punch's new title (if not PSV) will probably be kept for something like the Spike VGA's where Sony have used before for games like God of War.
Gamescom it is like the continuation for Sony after E3 and if you check the history of Gamescom from Sony, I think they will announce something for the current hardware available (price cuts, new hardware etc):
In Gamescom 2009, it was announced the PS3 Slim and other stuff. In 2010, was the highlight for PS Move (1 month before it was launched) In 2011, announced the new PSP model.
Most likely they will announce a price cut for PS3 or maybe for PS Vita?

Games Conference Floor= Up to 300,000 attendees = "may translate" to 1/4 of that sales figure at best
Games Press Conference Video = Watched by millions of people = A few more sales than the floor crowd can pull in.
I and every gaming person i know never went to E3 this year, but nearly everyone I have talked to has watched with interest the online press conference in some form or another from E3 for their favourite platform.
So yes, it was a mistake not to have spent a bit of time showing the 25 floor games during the press conference! Numerically speaking, a huge mistake!
Time to shift the focus to the Vita, or give it a share amount of time during the conference. There a lot of titles coming out on it, some that require show and tell. Sony should tell what line up to expect for this holiday sales to get gamers hyped up. As much as I don't care for it, people want their COD and Assassin's creed III. Those two are system sellers. I want to see sucker punch work on an Infamous Vita title. I feel like they'd take great advantage of the tech. Sony, make it happen.

Vita was revealed at their last ps meeting. Who knows really.
