Blu-ray Vs. HD DVD: Who Cares?

"The high-definition video disc format Blu-ray landed on the map for many consumers a couple of weeks back, when Warner Home Video announced it would cease supporting the rival HD DVD format. Many tech forecasters believe the move effectively ends a format war between two incompatible technologies."

in Japan Blu Ray had 20% of the annual DVD market share.

I think europe and japan might totally abandon hd dvd as well as DVD this year

I think the article was written by some hd dvd supporter

Who cares? That Japanese as they are beginning to move from DVD to Bluray in very rapid numbers. It will become the nationally accepted format in a year.

People who like to watch/buy the highest quality version of a movie they like care. There were people on both sides that wanted atleast one of the others exclusive movies so of course they cared if their format won or not.
