Splinter Cell: Blacklist won’t be returning to the “uninteresting” black-and-white stealth system of Conviction, but will reintroduce non-lethal takedowns.
(PC, PS3, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Wii U, Xbox 360)
And this is the reason I have no interest in this game (I don't just mean the Black/White thing), loved the older ones (The first 3) but this game is just a shadow of its former self, they've practically ditched the stealth for run and gun :(
Same here.... ... they might as well dropped the whole 'Splinter Cell' from the name of this title and the last one, and started a new IP, cause this just isn't Splinter Cell anymore.
yea im done with the series. I can understand survival horror turning into action.. fine whatever... sux but whatever. But stealth and espionage is in no way dead. If you want a splinter cell action game.. at least make it a spin off... stop destroying the series. I Promise you this one is going to sell way less then the previous ones.
I mean this is on the level of turning metal gear solid into devil may cry.... woops. lol
the best one on the series was double agent. They should explore that and make the game take different paths based on your actions. That one had none of this mark and execute crap. They just basically made splinter cell way to easy and took out the need for stealth. You cant even lay down in the latest one.. i mean cmon.
Yeah there are so few REAL stealth games anymore. MGS games come out too few apart (Rising doesn't count), Tenchu series is practically discontinued, and now Splinter Cell too? We need NEW stealth IP series. To hell with all these sell-out companies.
thiey shoud have made it a option if anything almost like two versions of the game but just action or stealth gameplay in options. this game looks too much like uncharted from running to shooting to cut scenes to climbing all uncharted rip off, and its not what splinter cell is all about. im still buying it though idc still looks fun to play
While it looks like a good game in it's own defense, it's not the splinter cell I was hoping for. It's looking like we'll have to hope that indie devs take over the stealth genre, it's obvious the big guns aren't interested anymore.
I liked Conviction and Chaos Theory. They were very different games, but both still focussed on stealth. Ditching stealth is killing my interest in continuation of the series. Seriously, Splinter Cell is primarily a stealth game, but a really lousy action title.
With Ironside gone they should just have started a new protagonist. Blacklist looks and sounds awful.
You sir, are a leach. Draining from society and giving nothing in return. Congratulations for lowering your own value and worth. Enjoy bottom feeding from our droppings while the rest of the world contributes to a better America. There is something to be said about virtues, and the lack thereof. In my eyes, you're little better than the average petty thief.
Stealing is stealing. You can't argue with the fact. You can defend piracy all you want, but at the end of the day it's still illegal, and it's still wrong. Giving to society? I Teach, volunteer, donate, and give on a daily basis. I buy ALL of my games, crap or not. I provide for a family. I obey the law. Sure, I'm not perfect, but I'm working towards that goal of perfection, even though I know I will never attain it.
It's a sad state of affairs with certain franchises atm.
Splinter Cell is no longer what it used to be.
Capcom have turned Resident Evil into an action franchise.
EA have done something similar with the Dead Space franchise as it apparently is "too scary to play alone".
I have to wonder, is it the Uncharted effect we are seeing here? I mean developers... take influence but don't stray from your roots for heaven's sake.
Some of you babies whine without reason. They didn't say anything about ditching stealth. Just the way they did it in a particular version where it would go black and white to indicate you were hidden. That wasn't in the previous version. You all see one clip and all of a sudden know how exactly the game is going to be. "OMG it had day a day time level."
Splinter Cell is dead to me... Ubisoft have got it into their heads that stealth doesn't sell anymore, and without Ironside on board I just cannot find a single f**k to give anymore. Man, I used to love this franchise so much.
So basicaly they are taking what made the game great and tossing it? So lets review: No Sam Fisher AKA Michael Ironside (I now its still Sam Fisher in the game but not for me) No traditional stealth or very little of it and an all- round letdown, way to go Ubisoft, maybe a rental.
... they might as well dropped the whole 'Splinter Cell' from the name of this title and the last one, and started a new IP, cause this just isn't Splinter Cell anymore.
They raped the franchise.
I want Chaos Theory quality. Nothing less.
I mean this is on the level of turning metal gear solid into devil may cry.... woops. lol
Please people, don't buy this game. Let us all show Ubisoft that we don't want Blacklist, we want Chaos Theory 2!
In one voice, let us shout, WE WANT STEALTH!
SC is nothing like Uncharted. If you've played the other Splinter Cell games, you'd know he climbed buildings before Uncharted was even thought of.
Also, there were multiple ways to climb in Splinter Cell games!!!!
Play a game before you say something copied Uncharted!
The disagrees further show, people on this site dont play games, they talk games. Play Splinter Cell & see the multiple ways he can enter a building!
He will climb a gutter to enter a building. Play some damn games people.
RB 6 will be next.

Hahaha ... great assumption,,, but its wrong..
you dont know me... you can base all of that on one comment... your very smart ? NO
piracy.. yea i pirate.. do i buy games? yes i buy games....
what do you know about me ?
Only that I pirate some games ? ...right
chill out dude its the internet...
Im sure I probably give more to society than you do.....
just think for every dollar that i save on CRAP games or games that I pirate play the first few levels and delete them.....
Imagine what I do or can do with that money... and for society ...
stop thinking so small it hurts your image ..if u care for such a thing
You can't argue with the fact.

Its all bollocks.

Totally loved the last one
Tbh I thought conviction was pretty badass. Just needed to be a bit longer.
