More DUST 514 Beta Codes Available in PlayStation Home

Posted by Cade Peterson // Community Manager, PlayStation Digital Platforms -

Legions of you turned out last week for the virtual E3 booth in PlayStation Home, and one of the biggest showcases was the introduction of DUST 514, a PS3-exclusive PSN multiplayer shooter from CCP. As the excitement around DUST 514 is growing each day, I wanted to let everyone know that there are still some DUST 514 beta codes available. (DUST 514, PlayStation Home, PS3)

how do you get the codes?
Emilio_Estevez  +   1337d ago
Complete the E3 quest from Christina Lee, go to the Dust Lounge, complete a game of slayer, watch the 3/4 vids, then a code appears on one of the screens, download, wait, enjoy

Do you need to win or just complete? Slayer CPU keeps beating me down.

It's a pain in the arse to win since ALL the AI teams will attack you, but it can be done. The game I actually won took two hours....lol

I watched all the videos and tried to just play the game, but it didn't give me the code till I won.

You make the E3 quest sound like a simple task ... it's NOT!

Log into PlayStation Home today and make your way to the DUST 514 space, called The Event Horizon Lounge. It is found directly on the Navigator (once in Home, hit Start > Navigator > New and Recommended > The Event Horizon Lounge). Once in the Lounge, talk to the bartender. She’ll give you a little info on Mercenaries, and direct you to the Recruiter who can help you get a beta code. Once you’ve learned more about the EVE universe and secured your code, make your way down the corridor on the left and play the addictive game of Slay—a tabletop style game of world domination.

I dont think you have to play the game.

I got one, you do have to play a complete game, but don't have to win. The Merc tells you to play Slayer and watch the vids, he doesn't give you a code, it appears on one of the video screens once you complete the tasks.

Oh, and you have to watch them all the way through.

It's easy, but It's a little bit of a run around and will take about an hour or 2.

I got in for a few minutes, but PSN was down on Sat, but I've been busy with MASS EFFECT 3 (I recently bought it for $30).

I've really liked the E3 quests in Home, they add a little something after watching the E3 presentation.

I'll need to jog down to the Event Horizon lounge though, that world domination game sounds like Risk, and i loved Risk.

+Bubs for the info guys

Well I can't say much either way, if you don't have the beta go on Home and check for yourself, I'm personally a bit disappointed, I'm only holding on to the hope that the game will greatly improve by the time it gets released.

The betas live?
HammadTheBeast  +   1337d ago
Closed beta, yes.
HammadTheBeast  +   1337d ago
e version we're currently playing is decent, and its the bare minimum version from last December. On June 29, a new updated version comes out, with tons more stuff and way better graphics. Patience.
Ducky  +   1336d ago
The current build is very old and the purpose is to stress servers. It isn't meant to test gameplay and isn't meant to be as a demo. You're in the beta to help make Dust a better game, and right now you're mostly there to hump the servers.
(Hence why the servers are mostly online on weekends)

Check the E3 vids, and you'll see the game is much different from what's in the beta, and as Hammad said, they'll be updating it to the newer build.

i hope the Dust 514 dev target more MAG/EX MAG player with beta codes. they could really help flesh out the bugs in this game. MAG had a huge learning curve to become really good. i hope Dust 514 get it right.
LeoDDestroyer  +   1336d ago
From what I've played it looking to have a even greater learning curve than mag. There's a lot of content in this game and as you said I hope they will get it right.
