BagoGames: It Ain't All About Diablo 3 | Torchlight 2 Preview

After taking in all the feedback during the last beta session, Runic will be tweaking the skill trees for each of the four classes. The skill trees will be like Diablo II, where you’re awarded points upon leveling up and can invest the points to learn and subsequently power up skills. Previously, putting more than one skill point into the same category merely bumped up its effectiveness. Runic is reworking the system so skill upgrades will be a little more interesting at higher levels. (PC, Torchlight II, Xbox 360)

This should be welcome news for any Torchlight and Diablo fans that the games are similar to each other.

Runic appears to be making a hard and concerted effort to renew the franchise and make it better than it's predecessor.

I've never playe Diablo or Torchlight but I appreciate torches and the light that they produce so this game gets a thumbs up from me
Ajoyshop  +   829d ago
I like how you took Torchlight literally? "It must be the new Torchlight 2.0 series, bigger, better and brighther than ever!" Haha!

Alright kids. Let's try to keep focused on the task at hand. I feel like we learned a lot today about skill points and skill trees. :p

I want a torch now.

We should be having an interview with the developer of Torchlight 2 in the next couple of weeks.
Ajoyshop  +   829d ago
That would be awesome! Have you been in contact with anyone over there yet?
liberator23  +   829d ago
That would be really awesome!
TheInterview  +   829d ago
Yes they were totally up to doing an interview but wanted to wait until after e3.
pumpkinlord45  +   829d ago
That'll be awesome. The game looks really cool and like to hear more.

I'm looking forward to this more than I did with D3
Bagogames  +   829d ago
Agreed, Diablo 3 seems so unbalanced compared to other dungeon crawlers. Barbarians are completley useless in Inferno, and at that, Inferno itself is a complete rage fest. The bosses go down quickly, and the real challenge lies in getting to them. Not what it should be about.

I was never looking forward to Diablo 3, I was just never a fan of the genre of games. Maybe this one can help me get into it.
jeremybtyler  +   829d ago
Not a PC gamer myself, this was a very good preview though.
liberator23  +   829d ago
I'm getting into PC games more now that I bought my new graphics card and power supply.
Bagogames  +   829d ago
Dude, PC games are where it's at! Dead Space 3 was better on the PC, Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas were better on the PC, and the list goes on.
judge212  +   829d ago
Dead Space 3 isn't out yet haha

Damn your computer plays games from the future. Now that's some powerful shit right there.

Looking forward to this. Torchlight 1 was really fun.
Bagogames  +   829d ago
What are you looking forward to seeing in Torchlight 2? What did you like about the first one?
allyc4t  +   829d ago
Multiplayer is what I'm looking forward to the most. It sucked that Torchlight one didn't have it. I really enjoyed TL1 because it really felt like Diablo 2, a game I absolutely love. The gameplay and music were awesome.
guitarse  +   829d ago
I've yet to play either, your tempting my hand though :D
TheInterview  +   829d ago
I'm really looking forward to Torchlight 2 as well, I only played some of the original but this game looks awesome.
NYC_Gamer  +   829d ago
TL2 will have long legs since it offers mod support plus online/offline modes...
pumpkinlord45  +   829d ago
Yea, mods are what really drives a game forward.
sriki007  +   829d ago
for 20 bucks, this is a steal for people who like diablo style game..
jeremybtyler  +   829d ago
Games like this make me wish I had a gaming PC.
Orangeandwhite  +   829d ago
Honestly, anything is better than Torchlight 1. Hopefully Torchlight 2 will make major improvements to create a better, deeper, and overall more fun experience for players because honestly in my mind, Console players deserve better as far as Diablo clones go.

Looking forward to checking this out.
