Nintendo CEO hints that future games will compare favourably with the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions
I think the power of wiiU will be like a ps3.5 which is enough for nintendo. They don't need to be as powerful as ps4 or 720. This is what is is so far. http://images.eurogamer.net... http://images.eurogamer.net...
The Wii U version there clearly shits on the Ps3 version as you would expect...but batman? hardly pushes the ps3 compared to It's exclusives... maybe a more sophisticated Ps3 capture Vs a Wii U one to get a totally better understanding of how good the wii you can actually be compared to the BEST work of the ps3
Idk man, to me, the PS3 version looks better in those pitures. If you notice, the buildings in the background on the Wii U version is flat with no textures, whereas the PS3 version you can still see the textures. Another example is how you can see the metal fence on the building in the lower left, where the Wii U version doesn't show that at all. Either way, I am sure the Wii U games will be much better looking later on. It's always been like that. As developers get used to developing for it, the games should be a lot better looking then the ones released and shown during launch.
@Cryptcuzz You've got to be kidding me. The Wii U version looks much, much better. The Wii U version is using post processing effects that the PS3 version is missing. The PS3 version looks rough and jagged compared to the Wii U version. I am seriously concerned with the future of graphical advancement when morons can't even discern the difference in quality between console and PC games or PS3 and Wii U games. Developers might decide "why bother?" when so many gamers can't even tell the difference.
Not sure why people disagreed with starchild. Rather off putting that people agreed with cryptcuzz. Wii U is clearly far cleaner than the PS3 version and is rendering a lot more. Even the spotlights are better processed. Textures are also far higher in detail. "Another example is how you can see the metal fence on the building in the lower left, where the Wii U version doesn't show that at all. " But then again you don't see the dynamic red cloth on the Ps3 version. So I really don't think the "fences" are that a big deal to add.
You cant really compare a port of game from current gen systems because its not like you can make major improvements if it was a complete remake with models made up from the ground up then yeah.
So the excuses have already started huh? What happened to 'Thew Wii U will be more powerful then then PS3 and the 360 and surpass them and be the real first next gen console' And now it's 'It's okay we don't need power and graphics' and trying to make excuses for the Wii U version barely looking better then the 6 year old console. I suppose there will be even more of these statements once the PS4 and next Xbox come out.
well that is good that they are not using its full potential.
Yea, who wants to get blown when you can pay for a lap dance.
Yea, you'll probably see some amazing games down the road that will use it's full potential.
half it's potential and it's not even out yet? I think that's pretty bad considering the PS3 and XBOX did not hit half it's potential until 2 or 3 years ago.
It's the launch titles. Later on, their will be better games or games that use it's full potential.
already? what will it be a year or two post release?
Will compare favorably with future 360 and PS3 games? Yeah um it's already doing that..this writer is so much fail..
The other half utilizes Wii Vitality Sensor.
their exclusives looked underwhelming...nothing that the current gen consoles can't do.
Well considering everyone has yet to see a traditional nintendo exclusive on the platform, I wouldn't gauge it's potential on 2D sidescrollers, even if Nintendo has elected to use 720p for now. Nintendo has amazingly competent development teams, but a lot of their artists are used to creating assets to capitalize on SD resolutions. Expecting both them and their programming teams to deliver instantly on a new platform is a lot to ask.
Well, it's no big deal. Remember the PS3 and 360 has been maxed out, like, ten times.
Erm, so why don't they use teh 'full potential'?
Same reason why the 360 and PS3 didn't use "full potential" on their release dates. Or did you expect them to deliver Uncharted 3 or Halo 4 graphics right out of the box?
I seem to remember endless articles around the time saying how the PS3 was difficult to develop for. Isn't the Wii U supposed to be easy to develop for? If so, what's the problem?
It was, but I believe it was over-exaggerated due to the fact that MS had better dev tools. However, since the PS3's market is pretty much neck-n-neck on top of the exclusives that pretty much set the bar on the PS3, I believe that "hard-to-develop" for mentality is now an afterthought considering games do sell on the PS3. But regardless, nobody can push the system from day one. Optimizing code can take a lot of time and effort "hard-to-develop" for or not.
PS4 will look alot btr than wii u out the box & will only get better as time passes.. Im sure wii u will have some gems here n there but im in no rush to get one.. Maybe when a successor to Zelda & Metroid comes out, i can get a bundled deal for less money.. I dont like the games they have now enough to buy one
