Zombi U: Playing Dead - Does Ubisoft's Zombie Outbreak Bring Core Gaming To Wii U? - NowGamer
Hands on preview of Zombi U on Wii U, talking about the death and respawn system, melee and firearm combat, antibiotic attacks and Wii U tablet controls.
(Ubisoft, Wii U, ZombiU)
Lot of hype about this game at E3 but I reckon that was because there was little in the way of competition for the Wii U. Pretty average looking zombie game if you ask me.
Yeah, I'm not buying the hype. I've seen about 4 gameplay videos and it seems clunky. Moments using the touch seem really distracting(from the immersion) when the game tells you to look at it. I'm totally counting it out, but it needs a lot of polish if you ask me.
from what i have seen, this looks better than that RE6. RE6 looks like a bad Expendables movie... looks like they will make great used of the controller and has good looking grafix on the Wii U.
What Previews are you reading? Certainly not the ones approved for N4G.com. Most every UnCommented on Preview/Hands-On has been POSITIVE.
And they rave over the Multiplayer Assemetric play Mode.
And they rave on the way the WiiU Gamepad is being used in the game. Mostly about how you go through your inventory on the WiiU screen. The game does not pause and you have to look-up from what you are doing below. (just like real life IF there were Zombies =-P)
core gaming has no definition. core gamers do exist. they play a lot of video games. most of the "core" titles on ps3/360 are the most simplistic thing you will ever play. Uncharted for example. FANTASTIC game, but a 5 year old could play it. switch out gun, shoot guy that popped up, move on, and watch cut scene. does that sound like a "hard core" experience? no definition for core gaming exists
WTF indeed! I was about to say the same thing WTF is up with the title?? "Core" does not equal "Hardcore" as in guns, violence, intensity. Core games for Nintendo fans are games like Zelda, Mario, Metroid, etc. Core games are the foundations of what defines the particular console.
I don't know what you would classify core gaming but it doesn't have to be related to shooters exactly.
Casual gamers only play popular games that are simple and easy to get into. Examples: Call of Duty, Angry Birds, Just Dance, etc.
Core gamers are actually into video games, care about their favourite franchises and go on sites like this to check out games that they are interested in.
It doesnt matter what ppl think hardcore or core is.. If the game is good, play it.. If it sucks, dont.. It comes down to whether ppl wanna play games w violence or cute.. Nintendo games are for everyone.. A kid can beat mario but prolly not collect all the stars. My nephew (10yrs) beat twilight princess but couldnt find all the items or hearts.. I believe a game system should have a variety of genres from E-M equally so everyone can enjoy games from it.. Since nintendo 1st party games are always cute, most ppl think its for children.. Look at wii u menu.. They certainly arent trying to change the family friendly or casual image
Some people are hating because it's a WiiU game Hating on the WiiU for no real reason has been a trend around here since E3. Nintendo never came out and bragged about how powerful their console is, yet people hate as though they did. I guarantee that had this been a PS3 or 360 exclusive, all of a sudden it's the most innovative game around.
ZombiU is the closes thing to a traditional zombie survial game. The gameplay concept mentioned in this video is fresh and interesting. http://www.youtube.com/watc...

Sometimes you should check out a game instead of just listening to word of mouth.

Wii U already has Core games.

The game looks great, it's something I want at launch for sure.
