As a big fan of the series and someone who has completed every game, the series has come way down hill Since Resi 4, which set some pretty high standards not just for Resi but gaming in general. Resi 5 was not a survival horror, the spin off 'Operation Raccoon City' by slant six was a disgraceful game and if it hadn't been named under Resident evil I bet half of the people who played it wouldn't have bothered. I just played it because of the name. They've gone too action packed.
I was so excited to see Leon and Chris in Resi 6 and the first trailer looked brilliant but after E3 2012 it seems like it's gone too action paced and run here, run there dialogue. I miss finding keys to get around!
Capcom have screwed over all Resi fans along with their general fan base with DLC content that's on disc but has to be purchased.
