Status Report: the PlayStation Vita, three months in

Joystiq: "Three months, forty titles in. I think it's a fantastic machine. Of course we'd like to sell more of them, and we have key plans to do that," Sony's VP of Product Development and Worldwide Studios, Scott Rohde, told us in an interview during E3 2012. (E3, Industry, PS Vita, PS3)

Tempted to do the math and figure out how many games the PS1, PS2, PSP and other consoles had after three months... I think digital is helping a lot, but those sales are rarely discussed and only really noticed by existing users, so not good for selling the system

Call of duty should kick sales up but I still think Vita needs a price drop. I want one just can't afford it :(

LOL, everytime someone mentions a price drop for Vita on N4G, they get a barrage of disagrees. Don't take it to heart, I bet its because people who bought it at launch don't want to feel stupid when the price drops just a couple months later. That would also explain the constant defense of the $250 price point.

Yeah it happened before to the early adopters of the 3DS. I remember that when they did the massive price drop a ton of people were extremely angry. Some were even so angry that the thought the ambassador program was an insult to early adopters. After that the circle pad accessory was ridiculed and a ton of fanboys were claiming the doom of the 3DS.

Now look at the 3DS now.

Anyways I will admit that I bought a Vita the day it was released. But if Sony does a major price drop I will be treated to something similar to Nintendo's ambassadors program. So I'm not really worried at all. Heck just imagine if it was 80€ worth of PSP and PSX games I would be extremely happy with that.

Don't have a PSV And don't plan on getting one any time soon.
But SONY are doing well with It IMO,yeah sales are not through the roof but the catalog Is slowly filling with quality games...I will wait for the first wave of games to become pocket change and then I will make my purchase so I can get a good few games for cheap also...would like to see some RPG's on It also IMO PsP had It In the bag when it came to RPG'S...It's showing was defo better then the home consoles If you ask me.

I finally got to play mine at work! I have the night shift now, which now give me the time to actually play it. That, and I just recently started gaming again, I was burnt out for most of, if not all of this year.

P.S. What games do you, my fellow PS Vita gamers, suggest/recommend, I only have UC:GA currently.

Definitely rayman Origins, it feels completely at home on the Vita

He said he wouldn't change anything? I would- the damned web browser SUCKS! I would use that a lot but my iPhone is 100 times better for couch surfing right now. Give us Chrome, Opera even- just not crapbrowse 2.crap that's currently on there.
chad22hkd  +   777d ago
I have to agree on that. I was amazed sony kept that same broken browser. To me the vita is the best portable gaming device ever. But man does that browser suck!! It's hard to just check your email on it!

Hot Shots practically LIVES in my Vita, but the last couple of days I've been playing a lot of Gravity Rush and Ninja Gaiden. So many good games...

Regarding apps... I couldn't care less really. They're nice to have I guess, but I have my iPhone for that stuff. Just give me games, games, GAMES!!!
