In a recent interview, God Of War: Ascension‘s lead combat designer Jason McDonald has explained some necessary changes required to make the multiplayer work.
I'm glad they changed that. The champions of gods theme sounds much better than an illogical Kratos versus his cloned self battle. That wouldn't make sense at all. Think about millions of Kratoses fighting on online lobbies, it's like Agent Smith clones arguing over something and suddenly beating the hell out of each other.
Lol that would be hilarious to see Agent Smith fighting himself.
Although I agree, multiple Kratos'es would be lame, I would like to see a Kratos against everyone mode, much like Snake against everyone in Metal Gear Online. Of course, this would require the title character to be overpowered. In MGO, Old Snake, as a camo expert, was almost invisible. Kratos could be a lot more powerful as the only demigod with magical powers, but that could be really hard to balance.
I played that one challenge they're talking about in in God of War III.
Why not a "Gods of War" fighting or battle royal style game? There are ample characters with their own special moves and powers to make this work. Would be cool having a rumble where you can play as the god of your choice against other players online.
