MGO doesn't kill MGS4

Today the servers went offline for the MGO and the community including myself are just shattered and in tears because of this. However, the main purpose of MGS4 isn't gone. The game was designed from ground up to be a single-player experience. Recieving a perfect 10 from IGN, there is no doubt that this is one of the best games to experience even today. (Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, PS3)

Saved yourself a lot of time installing, upgrading and even logging in then.
Yea but once you get into the game it's pretty fun. Hope they bring it back without the Konami ID's and long patches. MGS5 maybe?

Yup.I participated int he closed beta and couldn't stand the issues and the Konami ID.

I Bought MGS4 because I wanted it for the story, not for the online

I honestly tried to play the multiplayer, but I could not for the life of me figure out how to play it. I gave up because there was too much registration to do.

Your lost. MGO was awesome. One of the best online experiences I had this gen.

actually MGO was on MGS3 Subsistence and back then it was way different compare to MGS4's MGO

I saw np with the Konami ID, you make it once then set your console to auto log in. Then you're done. What's the problem??? Online was very fun and different.

i enjoy the game too. but the if you ever had it login without auto log. forget it...there was like 2 different passwords..... i played online like a month ago....still loved it. wish people will not cheat on it thou.

The registration process (Especially at launch) was a slow painful process. If I recall they were very specific about passwords and usernames.

It was a ridiculous system of doing things when you had been used to the smooth online experiences available in lots of other games.

lmao the MG fanboys are hilarious. bet they are all super excited about metal gear gaiden tenchu rising too! wow so cool!

hey geniuses, there is a reason nobody played MGO. CAUSE ITS TERRIBLE!!!! Id play cod mw 340565 before i played another minute of metal crap online

im a big fat metal gear solid fanboy and damned proud of it.

A prime example of when people are too thick to realize that their preferences, have a massive effect on their opinions. CoD is a different game for a different audience, you unfortunately are not the type of person that MGO catered to.

Btw, nobody cares that you aren't looking forward to playing Metal gear Revengeance. Plenty of games that I'm not interested in, but that's not a instant marker that they are "bad" games.

....Why am I explaining this to you!?

MGO was an uber fail. That much is true. Thankfully nobody followed Konami's idiotic implementation of online gaming or else we'll need an Activision ID, EA ID, THQ ID and god knows what else to play online.

Mgs4 was hands down my best game this gen (single player) and ever since the raiden game was announced i havent been interested, it looks like utter crap and isnt a ps3 exclusive so i dont know why they have stamped metal gear onto it

I have high hopes for an MGO3.

I'm extremely sad that it's gone, I managed to attain Foxhound a few weeks back after years of trying, then BAM! MGO is taken from us, Sure it doesn't kill MGS4.. But for those like me who were regular MGO players, It's a kick in the teeth :(

I loved Metal Gear Online for many reasons like the ability to chose and listen to both old and new Metal Gear music from both the 8- bit up to current gen games and the "feel" of the gameplay was pure metal gear.

I played Metal Gear online for the first two years after its launch but I gave up on Metal Gear Online after I bought a new PS3 and the whole Konami ID / console ID / sign in debacle was just to much of a pain even for a long time Metal Gear fan like me.

The fact is that Metal Gear Online was not meant to cater to the COD / Halo FPS crowd it was a completely different game.

Yea MGS4's single player alone made the game a true masterpiece.

MGO is addicting!!! Only game that i know that actually takes skillz to play.
