E3 2012: ASTRO Gaming’s Aron Drayer Tells Us Why the A50 is Their Best Headset Yet

Joel Taveras writes, "After getting some up close and personal face (and ear) time with the new ASTRO Gaming A50 headset at E3 last week, I was quickly reminded why folks hold the brand up to a higher standard. We decided to chat with marketing director Aron Drayer who pretty much broke down everything we needed to know about their latest set of cans.

No. More. Wires. That was probably the most important thing that I came away with from our conversation, but there’s so much more to this new headset. Check out the full interview below and don’t forget to check back for a full review in the coming weeks!"

Let me guess another overpriced virtual surround sound headset with just two speakers?

Oh wow It's wireless. /lol
They should be happy that the Razer Tiamat is only working with a pc.

Otherwise no console gamer would waste money on their products.

My tiamat arrives tomorrow, can't wait.

its always funny to hear the hate coming from people who cant afford them.

I bought a pair of the A40s and I stepped on them cause I'm a clutz, and I immeditly bought a new pair cause I cannot, will not, game without them. The customer service is second to none, as an adult gamer/consumer this was very important to me. I've tried several pairs of different headsets for consoles and if my pair breaks I will be buying these immediately.

I hate the fact that they stopped selling the mixamp 5.8 [by itself], they kind of made it so that if you want wireless you HAVE TO USE THERE HEADPHONES.
currently rocking a mixamp 5.8 with Sennheiser PC360's, and if I don't need a mic I use Audio Technica AD700's.
I will never use astro headsets again.
Keep in mind that they are just stereo headphones with virtualization of dolby digital surround sound.
And honestly, the best dolby digital mixer i've heard was the turtle beach ear force DSS, the sound spectrum is much better then the mixamp. The DSS however, does not offer voice chat mixing or mic monitoring unless you know how to wire stuff together and make your own solution[and it is NOT wireless].
