Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm Generations Review - Dusty Cartridge

Unlike the only other anime we knew at the time, Dragon Ball Z, Naruto didn’t fall into the trap of making one event span over twenty episodes. The narrative flowed in a natural way, and every action undertaken by the characters revealed something about them. The show also didn’t rely solely on ‘who has more power than who’ to resolve combat scenarios, each character having their own special abilities and aptitudes, the clever use of which deciding who won.

"Playing as Gaara, someone whose fighting style revolves around standing in the same spot and using the sand to fight for him, plays no differently from Lee"

That's just not true. Bad review overall, I'd give it a 7 or an 8.

Wha huh? Naruto, Bleach, DBZ....all take 20+ episodes to complete a single battle. Naruto is the worse of the bunch. Not only does the actual battle consists of very little fighting and too much standing and talking, but there's also a guaranteed too long flashback of some other episode AND the life story of the enemy. So battles go like...shadow clone, stand around talking, shadow clone, villain's back story, shadow clone, flash back from 4 episodes ago, shadow clone, rasengen, become friends with the villain....rinse, repeat.

At least the Naruto games are full of action and light on filler. Generations is a damn fine game. A six is too low, even if the combat may not be as sharp as other games of this type.

DBZ took the longest for any action out of any anime ever. a lot of battle manga have long fights in the anime version. case an point would be one piece. good lord does hat anime take forever for something to happen, but the manga goes at a nice pace. Bleach does not take too long for the action, but the action rarely delivers. i think it is great that the naruto anime can tell major parts of the story in the battle, and keep great battle elements. it keeps the emotion at a good level, and brings a much stronger feel to the action. anyway i also believe that 6 is much too low for this game. as a sequel i would give it a 7.5, but if you look at it as a stand alone game, then it is one fantastic title
