There is a part of me that misses the heyday of the music-rhythm genre. Only four years ago I was able to get a group of friends together and just rock out with a microphone, plastic guitar, and a drum kit. Now in 2012 the genre has collapsed in on itself. My entire kit for Rock Band now lies in boxes across my home, relics of an era that dissipated not even two years ago. However, in the past years few smaller titles have been resurfacing in memory of this long lost genre. Rocksmith is the most notable of these, teaching players how to accurately play a guitar with an actual instrument. Another game; JAM: Live Arcade Music, seeks to teach people how to be a re-mix music.
