With the UFC license now officially owned by EA and the closure of WWE All Stars developers THQ San Diego, there's been a lot of talk that WWE '13 could very well be THQ's last ever WWE video game.
(PS3, THQ, Wii, WWE 13, Xbox 360)
Well if THQ does lose it then is 2K and EA going for it ..
(if activision dosent want get in it)
Well 2K would give WWE games the gameplay it needs and is been asking for ..
But EA would take WWE to another graphic level plus their online is actualy good ...they do have the people to make the gameplay right then EA is the right one for it
Good, they've been milking this bone dry and the WWE games deserve to return to its former glory, if not with THQ, then some other company. I have no sympathy for THQ here, they are like Activision with COD but lacking the success.
Aren't the WWE games one of THQ's more successful games? They have been cranking them out for thirteen years or so now.
I figured the whole Attitude Era thing was intended as a way to boost sales which may be sagging, but bad enough for THQ to want to get out of making WWE games altogether?
I would be curious to see what a western dev like EA would do with the series though. Yukes relies way too much on recycled content. For example, Austin's entrance. His animation has him entering the arena from the left side of the stage, but the WWE set has had everyone entering from the right for over four years now. It's a little thing, but still, it shows you how often they bother to update some of the stuff in the game.
I wouldn't mind seeing the games developed by someone else, but then again, THQ's games are at least solid, and better than anything else out there, at least in terms or wrestling games. I'd hate to give up THQ and see EA or Activision give us something along the lines of the TNA game.
i love the wwf/wwe series from yukes pacific/thq i played every single one and played them for hours. i could say im a true fan of wwe games. lately some of the games havent been doing good or lack of things that i miss from some old games. WWE 13 catch my eye when i saw the first trailer. It was from buy it use for cheap to day one. I love the idea of the attitude era and bringing back some of the stories.
i dont see another developer making wwe games and last thing i want to see is EA making WWE games. i dont like the way EA makes sports games. people say they are realistic but i dont see that.My guess on EA vision on a wwe game will be something like their MMA game which i really hate. I also see EA making UFC games like that. THQ was doing a good job with the UFC series. EA will just end up owning all sports license and will kill the sports genre. I miss Games like NFL 2k series.
Well EA has been mostly successful in the Sport department this gen, would be interesting to see if they can breathe new life into the wwe series. Might take them a game or two to get a new engine going tho.

Snatched from THQ
Now it wouldn't surprise me if this happens with the WWE franchise.
UFC was a big game for THQ to loose. Unless EA payed them a lot of money.
