Player choice completely changes The Last of Us

The work that Naughty Dog has put into The Last of Us could bring us an experience that goes far beyond the scripted, segmented play that we've become accustomed to. To me, that's far more exciting than the post-apocalyptic setting or cinematic presentation.

They are doing absolutely everything right for this one. We've not even seen most of what the game has to offer in terms of gameplay:

- Varied environments throughout the US, as expected in a Naughty Dog game.
- Wildlife and how you can interact with it, such as hunting, maybe?
- A wide cast of characters including human enemies, the infected and those who will help you along the way.
- More on the superb AI and how it reacts to your actions.
- Platforming sequences.
- Story based elements and how they play in. for example, the Dawn of the Wolf poster and interaction with that.
- Resource management and the depth to which you can use or create items.
- Inventory and more weapons.
- More of the really subtle things such as the attention to detail in the environment and how the characters interact with it.

So much we don't know, but everything so far looks incredibly promising.
