Three titles featuring Nintendo's megastar mascot, Mario, and his less heroic brother, Luigi, highlighted a Nintendo press conference showcasing new software for the 3Ds.
The 3DS easily has one of the most consistent and solid offerings this year.
Awesome 3rd party lineup too.
peopel complain of mario milking. we get 1 mario for every console since the n64, (except smg2) on ds only 1 2d mario on 3ds 1 mario 3dland (2d and 3d hybrid) 1 2d mario and thats it for the entire life of the 3ds for wii 1 2d mario in the entire life span and 2 3d mario (which has never happened ever before) now for wiiu 1 2d mario for its entire life span and people compare it to COD milking.... cod had mw3 mw2 blops blops 2 waw... on ONE CONSOLE yes mario had alot of games coming out but they are VERY DIFFERENT not even the same genre and if they are in the same genre THEY ARE IN A DIFFERENT CONSOLE
Its cuz they will have FOUR versions of NSMB.. I mean sure a few level changes & a couple new power ups are changed around but its THE SAME GAME.. Same thing with COD.. New coat of paint, cpl options, & they call it a new game with a full price tag.. How many paper marios? how many mario games chasing stars? theres no type of evolution there.. The games are quality & run DAMN good but the formula needs to evolve with the times.. I believe it hasnt much because they stuck behind this gen & were limited in what they can do but with wii u, theres no excuse for a game to run the same engine
CaCl, you missed a few off your list. 10 seconds to google. And this list only goes up to 2009 btw. There's still 3 years worth of mario titles on top of this: In fact the list is so long that I've had to only show 3 years worth of games because N4G said my comment was too long The full list of over 200 mario titles from 1981 up to 2009 is in this link: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/H... 2005 Mario Power Tennis (GameCube) - European release Mario Party Advance (Game Boy Advance) Yoshi Touch & Go (Nintendo DS) Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix (GameCube) Dr. Mario & Puzzle League (Game Boy Advance) Mario Superstar Baseball (GameCube) Mario Tennis: Power Tour (Game Boy Advance) Mario Party 6 (GameCube) - Australia and Europe release Super Princess Peach (Nintendo DS) - Japan release Mario Party 7 (GameCube) Mario Kart DS (Nintendo DS) Super Mario Strikers (GameCube) Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (Nintendo DS) Mario Kart Arcade GP (Arcade) international release NBA Street V3 (GameCube) Playable Character SSX on Tour (GameCube) Playable Character 2006 Mario Party 7 (GameCube) - European and Australia release Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (Nintendo DS) - European and Australia release Super Mario 64 DS (Nintendo DS) - Chinese release Super Princess Peach (Nintendo DS) - release outside Japan New Super Mario Bros. "there are a few vocal trolls ahem but overall Mario is beloved regardless." true Mario is beloved but you're a troll yourself as you clearly demonstrated in the Last of Us article. @CaCl: Ummmm...dude there's tons of Mario games on the wii. EDIT: Shadow flare beat me to it.
i was talking about 2D/3D MAIN PLATFORMING MARIOS not mario parties not mario karts not dr marios 2D AND 3D MAIN PLATFORMER MARIOS those come but ONCE IN A CONSOLES LIFE SPAN (yes smg2 was a very rare treat) but once a main mario entry is released THATS IT they wait till the next console generation did you get it? 2D AND 3D PLATFORMING MARIOS clear? i know nintendo uses the character alot THAT IS THE ENTIRE POINT OF MARIO nintendo wanted a character that can be used alot.....
You asked why people complain about mario being milked. And I'm simply showing why people complain about mario being milked. Expect to see his face in another 15 games this year. I've made my point. Merry Milking
@Shadow Flare Your list is really misleading. Many games in there are duplicates (eg: Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time in 2005 AND 2006, Mario vs. Donkey Kong 2 in 2006 AND 2007...), in many games in there Mario is only an extra character and his name doesn't even appear on the titles, many games in there are only Virtual Console releases...
How is luigi's mansion a mario game??
