GameSpot - Dust 514 Is Easily One of the Most Interesting Shooters at E3

GameSpot - It's a bit odd to think that an accessible first-person shooter could be one of the most interesting games at E3 2012, but that's Dust 514 for you. After all, it's hardly trying to reinvent the wheel. Dust 514's controls work like most first-person shooters on the market, with melee and sprint buttons mapped to either analog stick like Call of Duty, and vehicle controls very much in the style of Halo. But it's when you dig deeper into the universe this game takes place in that you realize this is one of the craziest first-person shooters on the PS3.

The beta is really, really fun. Only bad thing is it takes almost an hour to reload. Well, it feels like an hour at least.

It's not long unless you play Heavy a lot, it's just that sprinting cancels reload, which kinda sucks.

I kinda dislike how the health is in the game, i mean you din't have to die in 1 shot but it feel's like you have to be super accurate and land each bullet to kill someone with a round.

You know that you can reload faster in learning the skills books of that specific type of weapon, right? Like EVE.

But it requires a lot of dedication.

@ Virtual_Reality
Thanks for the heads up. I've never played EVE. That explains it.

Just so some of you know if you don't already, if you want in on the beta, go on Home(yeah I know right) and visit the Dust space, talk to the recruiter, you'll have to beat a strategy game called Slay and watch some vids to get a code.

Probably one of the most original and innovative shooters in E3. People should do some research on this game, it's pretty interesting what they are trying to do, and if this game is successful, it will open a door for a new breed of FPS on consoles.

Agreed. From what I played today it looks like it has tons of potential.
