IGN's editors break down who they thought had the best and worst showing at this year's convention.
sony did followed by nintendo then microsoft
Ubisoft had the best conference overall. If I had to pick between the console makers, it will be tough because they all sucked but i will say Microsoft,Sony then Nintendo for the following reasons. New hardware always gives me the trills. I plan on getting a Vita so was excited to see new original games makes made for the vita that you can't experience any place else. Unfortunately, nothing was shown. It made me feel like Sony does not have and confidence in the Vita and if that is the case, I sure as hell ain't buying one. Now , last of us looked great. God of was : ascension was okay but looked to much of the same for me and Beyond while looking awesome, has no release date. Is it one of those games that Sony likes to add that has a release date years later? If that game is coming out after summer next year, I will not give a sh*t about it because it will all be about PS4 and 720 for me. Nintendo also disappointed because i have not owned a Nintendo machine since the N64 so was hoping to be blown away by the Wii U. Well, we all know how it went. It was so underwhelming. Zombie U looks good so may still get it. That leaves Microsoft. They should my most anticipated game of the year Forza Horizon and it looked sensational. Halo 4 was also great. Not been excited for a Halo game like this since Halo 2. Gears prequel also looked amazing same goes for the new Splinter Cell. Good thing is that, I will be playing Forza Horizon in 4 months, Halo 4 in 5months and the others in less than a year. I like being shown games that will be released in no more than a year. The smart glass and IE 9 announcement is big in my book. I got an ipad2 and win phone 7 so using them as an input method to navigate the web and other uses is great news. All in all, my best games at the show are , Watchdog, Forza Horizon, Halo 4, Last of Us, Gears prequel, Splinter Cell and Tomb raider. You don't have to agree with it because it is my opinion.
No confidence in Vita? I thought that Assassins Creed Bundle was pretty good. I agree that Ubisoft had the best conference, but not that MS had the best show. Smartglass was shown to have potential, but that's about it. I wouldn't delay a game of Madden for 5 minutes to pick a play. Neither would I stop to get my tablet or phone to pick a loadout, and then jump into a Halo 4 online match. Seems tedious, it has potential, but it has shown nothing to me yet.
how did ubi win with a faked demo? go watch the gamespot feed. watch when the gunfight in watchdogs begins. they show the dudes controller an the screen action at the same time. no way he is controlling that. why are journos givin ubi a pass on this?
U Mad ?
Because the alternative is giving credit to Sony.
not hi rez but check the dudes hand http://videobam.com/BAPva
Ubi owned those mother truckers.
no i do believe most ppl mean outta the 3 console so ubisofts a console now smh i guess if xbox or Nintendo cant win nobody can huh smdh sony won hands down.
I'm a Nintendo/Sony fan but or me the order goes like this Ubisoft > Sony > Nintendo = Microsoft Nintendo made really really depressed about WiiU. All the good stuff I found put about it after. Like that Watch Dogs might be coming. Metro Last light and ghost recon are still coming. Ninty should ha e focused on those.
Ubisoft was the best overall and then Sony. Those two conferences were the ones that impressed me. Including Beyond and The Last of Us boosted Sony's conference ahead of the other two console manufacturers' conferences in my view.
Hard to say. Watchdogs was definitely a nice surprise but it was really the only good thing about their conference. Sony had no surprises but they had a really good showing. TLOU and Beyond looked fantastic. GOW gameplay looks the same but that just really means it looked awesome. And I don't think anyone expected the graphics to be that much better than GOW3's was.
Ubisoft. Nitendo, Sony, and Microsoft didn't have as many great things to present. Well Sony presentation was good but nothing too special.
I'm a huge Nintendo fan but even I'm not convinced by the Wii U yet. I really hate the name. I don't mind the idea for a touch screen controller, but why can't they have use for more then 1? Like if my friends own Wii U and come over and bring their screen controllers and play a FPS game like goldeneye wii u (just as an example) that would be amazing since nobody can look off your box on the tv to see where you are. You can sit in any side of the room and tear it up, use the TV as a scoreboard this would be awesome but sadly they are not doing this.
MS They covered 3 elements Core, XBL and Motion controls. Something for everyone.
My E3 scores (In order of conference); Microsoft = F EA = D Ubisoft = B- (Winner) Sony = C+ Nintendo = E.
Out of the big three? Sony. The Last of Us and Beyond have me really interested. Nothing from M$ or Nintendo to be honest. I can't believe Sony are investing in new IP this late in the gen!!!
They got it right in this when everyone miscalculated what they should have shown on their conference stages.
Out of the Big 3 - Sony won E3 hands down Out of the Big Publishers - Ubisoft stole the show
new ips make sony win by default last guardian footage would have just been overkill prolly saving it for tgs
Depends on what floats your boat i guess. Sony for me purely for new IP. The Last Of Us and Beyond are gonna be amazing. Ubisoft was great (Watch Dogs and Rayman) but the problem with any of the multiplats such as Watch Dogs or Far Cry or even Tomb Raider and Splinter Cell is that they were all demo'd on a high end PC, so in comparission The Last Of Us and Beyond blew them all out of the water considering they were shown on an actual PS3.
