NowGamer: "As the last E3 before we properly dive into next-gen, are Star Wars 1313, Watch Dogs and Crysis 3 examples of what we can expect from a new set of hardware?"
They are kinda, yeah. Both are some of the most impressive graphics I've seen. But a true glimpse of next gen is Square Enix's Luminous Studio Real-Time Demo. Have you seen that sheit!? http://www.youtube.com/watc...
The question is can a consumer console run it
that demo makes me kinda wonder if its real or fake it might be possible, and i would be more then willing to eat my words if next gen console games turn out looking like that or better
It's definitely not faked, but it doesn't show any actual gameplay. It's all pre-calculated. So at the very least cut-scenes can look incredible. It was also running on a high-end PC, so until we see the specs on the next consoles you can't really determine what they can and can't do.
The Star Wars demo is a glimpse, it's actually running. The Watch Dogs title isn't that great looking and it is so heavily scripted the team may not be able to duplicate the game play in an actual build.
I love the smooth transition from the cutscene to actual gameplay part.
