So 1st he's not an actual Belmont but has their name, now the Belmonts are descended from Dracula which makes Alucard the Belmont's half brother rather than their potential Ancestor...Or the Belmonts are inbred via Alucard and Sonia Belmont...

I hope they don't continue this spin off world much longer.

J86blum2206d ago

I thought close to the same thing lol they are inbred and gather every so years to battle it out. Bet the reunions are hell.

This game is pure gold (and I was expecting it to be bad because there is no 2D graphics).

-Full exploration like the DS games (I was worried about the lack of exploration)
-15+ hours of gameplay
-Easy, normal, hard and maybe hardcore mode (according to the interview)
-New gameplay elements
-3D effects
-Deep gameplay(mix of 2D Castlevania games and some God of War elements)
-Hard bosses
-4 playable characters (Is Alucard on this game? I hope so)
-Some Nintendo Network elements they can't talk about yet (I hope it's achievements? Unlikely)

and the list goes on.

I can't wait for this.

Wait... This is 25 years after LoS... Doesn't that mean all the Belmont's would be part Vampire?

RyuX192206d ago

This is what has been explained so far. In this game they introduce the Mirror of Fate which was given to Gabriel's wife Maria. Maria knew that she would be killed by his hands and what it would lead to so she was told hide their child Trevor because he is the only that will be able to defeat him.

So Trevor grows up without Gabriel's knowledge and trains himself to defeat Gabriel/Dracula.

NovusTerminus2206d ago

So... Where does Simon fit into that?

Ahasverus2206d ago

@Lord: Simon is Trevor's son

RyuX192206d ago (Edited 2206d ago )

Simon Belmont is the son of Trevor. Trevor tells his wife that if he does not return from the battle that she must take Simon to the forest and raise him there. So the game will again skip forward in time as Simon to find the castle.

What's really interesting is that Simon's weapon is actually Vampire Killer the main weapon of the series. I guess they will explain the origins of that within the game as well.

Alucard has been confirmed in the latest trailer, but nothing plot wise has been revealed.

I think CASTLEVANIA won e3 buy its self.

Cant wait for this. Glad the 3ds is picking up where the ds left off with Castlevania. If this has the exploration of the ds titles this may be the best one yet.

MrMister2206d ago

Yes it will be a discover based game, not level based like LoS 1. LoS2 and the 3ds game will both allow open exploration and back-tracking.

Here's the E3 interview with Mercury Steam that proves it:
