Ghost Recon: Future Soldier is more than an advancement in a storied series, it's a major change to a popular formula. Have these changes made the game better for old fans or more welcoming to newcomers?
I'm still trying to get my hands on a review copy of this game. I really want to play it!
Game is too easy. Run around invisible. Woohoo this game is SOOOO DIFFICULT !!
SinglePlayer Coop. Thank god! I can't stress how much I want this feature in many games. Actually, most of my friends don't have a console, so it's quite handy when we sit on a couch and game old 90s style.
I LOVE campaign co-op. Can't stress it enough.
love the campain but I buy games for the multi Player. I'm disapointed in the multi. Correct: It is not the game I thought it would be. It took everything I loved about ghost recon and got rid of it. It took everything I hated in COD and made it into Ghost. Almost finished with the campain... you can have it Pat
Besides the extra tech and obvious advancement in gameplay this was not as different from GRAW2 as it's being made out to be. It was no where near run and gun, it wasn't even pop and shoot. It was cover, move to get an advantage, shoot and get back in cover. If he wanted GRAW2 that bad, go back and play it. This game, aside from some weird looking cutscenes, was pretty pretty good.
im actually really liking this game... a lot lol... and exactly what theWV27 said... want GRAW2?..go buy it.. this is a great fun game that had me saying "holy sh!t" at a few moments throughout the campaign..
I was surprised how much I enjoyed the protect VIP segments in the campaign. At first the control limitation bugged me...but I quickly felt more involved actually protecting the VIP than I ever had in other shooters. Mp is a blast! But no matchmaking for guerilla mode is crap.
It was a little faster paced than Ghost Recon used to be, but still very tactical. Some great missions and some very nice toys to play with.
A buddy of mine picked up GRFS for his 360 and I've been interested in checking it out. Not sure how I'll like the whole 3rd person thing, but who knows, it might remind me of SOCOM. One thing is for sure, it's not like the old GR games. I had to laugh at the guy in the article talking about GRAW's "classic gameplay", lol. I get the feeling he never played the original Ghost Recon game and expansions. Now those are classic, and in my opinion, much better games for their time.
I am haven allot of fun with this game. Yet on the other hand i'm still left wanting my classic ghost recon fix. This game is fun yes but it is not really a fix for a old PC/console ghost recon player. In allot of ways it seems like they just need to change the name and make a new IP. Think more people would enjoy this game style better. Then leaven the old GR players in the cold.
Shameless plug, but very relevant to this thread..... "There are a lot of people that loved Red Storm Entertainment’s original Rainbow Six, Rogue Spear and Ghost Recon but the latest incarnations of those titles just aren’t what they want. To me, Ground Branch is for those people." -John Sonedecker, Founder BlackFoot Studios, LLC and former original member of Red Storm Entertainment I know the foundation of this franchise as I was part of building it. Now I am trying to recapture that gameplay that a lot of people, myself included, miss so dearly. If you are at all interested as well the please take a few minutes of your time and check out BlackFoot Studio's project Ground Branch. http://www.groundbranch.com and http://www.kickstarter.com/... We think you will like what you see!
You officially have my attention. I'll be passing this on to some of my old gaming pals since all they can get into anymore is Project Reality for BF2 and ARMA. An old fashioned shooter without all the crappy respawn-die gameplay and Micheal Bay theatrics would be great.
Great! We are truly passionate about doing these games justice and are tired ourselves of where modern so called "realistic" shooters are headed. And unfortunately they are not coming back. I was a big part of the "squad based tactical shooter" genre when it started and plan on being a big part of making sure it continues. Help spread the word as much as you can. Cheers!
