With London 2012 Olympics just around the corner, European gaming website PlayDevil has posted an in depth review of the new "Summer Challenge Athletics Tournament".

"It is hard to offer too much variety in athletics games as almost all have the same style of gameplay, this being predominantly stick waggling and button bashing. Summer Challenge Athletics Tournament replicates this gameplay style with a few minor differences such as quick time button presses during events such as trampolining although to be honest I find this format somewhat tired in this generation and perhaps one could expect something a little different from the gameplay style which has been evident for around thirty years."
For those gamers keen to get into the athletics frame-of-mind and not willing to wait for SEGA’s officially licensed effort, Summer Challenge Athletics Tournament isn’t a bad videogame by any means, though it is poorly judged in a number of respects. The most prominent of which is the difficulty. Summer Challenge Athletics Tournament is an accurate title, as the videogame is certainly challenging, but far too much so for any casual gamer.

Gamesta.com has more on PQube. The publisher announced it will also go for gold with a separate Olympics title dubbed Athletics Tournament. On the other hand, it delayed racing title Crash Time 4 to June.
