Sly (along with the heroes of Ratchet & Clank and Daxter of Jak & Daxter) was a wise-cracking hero in the same vein that we see in a lot of game protagonists of today, perhaps most notably in Uncharted's Nathan Drake. Sharing a lot in common (they're both thieves, naturally), the only thing that truly divides them is their bodies; Sly is a raccoon in an interactive cartoon, Drake is a dude who murders people for treasure. Sly can be seen as one small part in inching forward a grandiose change in video game heroes; protagonists who toss out jokes and commentary almost incessantly. Yet Sly also closed the book on a particular time period, as a part of the last line in the former dynasty of video game mascots.
What ever happened to the animated movie they advertised a couple years ago? R&C made it to theatres, Heavenly Sword I found on Netflix. The Sly movie just went dark.
Thieves in Time was an awesome entry to the series and I really wanna know how they would bring the series forward but it seems like the sequel is not in the works at all. come on Sony....don't let this series die! pretty please. you guys were willing to give Knack a sequels, why not go bigger? R&C is nice but Sly should be next!
Remember the PS2 days? When 3D platformers were a dime in a dozen and the best of the best battled it out for fandom? Of course, I’m talking about Ratchet & Clank, Jak & Daxter, and Sly Cooper. But what about Sly Cooper? He deserves a chance to bring back the magic of 2002 just as much as his Lombax cousin, and here’s a few reasons why.
I would rather have a Sly Cooper 5, Sly 4 was terrific. I also want that cliffhanger at the end addressed
True but at the same time, you want to reach out to new audiences especially to the guys who weren't still around when the first Sly launched.
SP took a different approach with Sly 2 ad 3 compared to Sly1.
I think Sly 1 remake would make sense.. Thievius Racoonus.
I love this series, i hope Sanzaru is on the next one.
I still feel like this series could benefit from the release model of an episodic game. Sorta like Hitman, except, y'know, with more content each month
I actually agree to a degree because of the format and structure of the game I believe that a mission by miission thing could work but I'm not sure the series is popular enough to maintain long-term marketing with an episodic game Hitman is a very popular series and they're able to maintain strong marketing for a while for each episode so I'm not sure that the Sly Cooper series could pull that off.
I would say he was even more deserving, what with him being somewhat lesser known. But personally, I would like to see a Medievil reboot.

The moment to moment appeal was pretty good, but the bosses suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucked.
i'll be getting this for my PS3 but it'll be handy getting the Vita version for free too. something to demonstrate to those who want to see what the Vita can do
