In an E3 interview, Hitman Absolution game director Tore Blystad has responded to criticism of the Attack of the Saints trailer.
it would be unfortunate if they simply took it out. I want to know what the level is like.
If they take it out (which they shouldn't!!!), then they should still have it available as free dlc. That way the only people to play that are ones that aren't "offended" by it :)
Why complain about the sexism? At least it was fairly advanced, racially. I mean, the sexy nuns were led by a black lady.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure progressiveness works on a point scale, so, it evens out. lol
oh please have some ballz and release the dam thing.
Sexism? You mean people weren't complaining about blasphemy or sacriligiousness? What's this world coming to?
The trailer was about as Sacrilegious as it was sexist. People offend far to easily about things, or simply look for the controversy in anything. Depicting a woman as sexualized isn't instantly sexist, I don't know where the "gender role" handbook said woman should roll with RPG's and kill dudes.
I couldn't agree more, Ravenor. It's true--people are either far too sensitive or go out of their way to find something to complain about.
Before dropping a s**t, go watch the latest Jimquisition. He really puts things into perspective. Whether or not you agree with the complaints set forward, understand how great it is that people are willing to stop and examine/question things like this. And come on, the trailer is a bunch of women tearing their clothes off and then getting dominated in a series of punches and bullets. If nothing else, it's a cheap, uncomfortable thrill, at the very best. At worst it is a bunch of women being objectified seconds into making their appearance and then being used as slow-mo punching bags.
Because 47's suit with red tie and leather gloves blends in with everyone and gives him superior combat effectiveness right? It's call style. And howcome nobody ever complains when fictional men get "objectified?" Why can't women in fiction look good? jeez It's not like any women were offended by this trailer anyway. It's all just been over-sensitive men so far.
"And howcome nobody ever complains when fictional men get "objectified?" Why can't women in fiction look good? jeez" Okay, that argument is fair other places, but here we're talking about women in leather fetish nun gear, not women just "looking good"
And how do you know they're nun fetishists? They can't be a group of sleeper agents from a nearby cathedral? They were pretty convincing with their robes on. 47 has his style and the assassins have theirs. Why are you judging?
So let me get this straight, a developer can only put white males as the villains or else they'd be called racist ( Capcom - RE ) or sexist ( IO - Hitman ). Stop treating people differently and then say " we're equal. " We ARE equal, the majority of gaming have villains as white males but when they are black or females OH noooo how can they do that!? Hypocrites.
You're dead on dude. That's just the problem with most people. They think that other races are incapable of racism, sexism, etc. It's just the whole phony progressivism people want to believe they adopt. They don't want equal rights, they want more rights than others.
It's a trailer for a game where you mass murder people, I could really care less how they look.
I really wish they didn't apologize, they didn't do anything wrong. People were offended, so what. People now are getting offended with everything just because they feel it's their 'moral obligation' blah blah blah. You don't like it, don't buy it. You're still offended, then go f***k yourself. For f**ks sake, we have video games where we can create a NAKED FEMALE CHARACTER WITH GIANT TITS AND USES A DILDO BAT AS A WEAPON! How is this single trailer getting controversy compared to Saints Row The Third!?
There is nothing wrong with the trailer!
it seems these people like to make any excuse to complain about something. Did they not realise that the women were in disguise as nuns to kill the main character of game. they were dressed sexually? I didnt see no naked bare boobs or ass or nudity. They all got killed in quite a violent manner in the end. Violence? Well the game is based on the character as an assassin-and that means people are going to get killed. That cant be considered as sexual right? Unless those people who complained are into that sort of thing.
If you don't recognize that the outfit the nuns were wearing was 100% fetish gear then you are just being willfully ignorant. I don't even care whether the trailer was sexist or not. It was the fact that the trailer was garbage. We had that awesome gameplay preview where he's sneaking past that large group of police in a run down building that got everyone excited. It was gritty, tense, and thrilling. Then they give us a trailer of A47 killing a bunch of fetish nuns equipped with rocket launchers. Fuck that.
Maybe they were sleeper agents from a nearby cathedral trying to fit in the motel setting more? Or maybe they were sleeper agents from a nearby fetish club? Who can say for sure?
I am not aware the percentage of fetish gear the nuns were wearing. So thats the problem? Is that they were wearing fetish gear? When people complain that a game is too sexual etc-is because there is nudity or a sexual act. These nuns were only dressed sexually in what you call fetish gear. No sexual act was conducted. They didnt even do a strip or dance but rather unveal who they truely were in their moment of attempting to kill the main character.
