Analysts generally wanted more from Nintendo this E3, and they wanted more details about the launch price and date.
They got plenty of killer apps for the casuals..... Unfortunately for us, no killer app exists. Highly disappointing conference.
After learning more about ZombiU Im actually excited about that game. I just hope they add more to the multiplayer aspect. This E3 was such a disappointment, not worth the wait at all.
None of them are killer App's really, if they released them on PS3 or 360 they would be considered filler. They never really showed enough of the third party stuff to even consider Them. but Zombi U is looking good.
They could at least given it the appeal of being region free but sadly Iwata pretty much confirmed that the WiiU will be region locked on Sunday. Break the locks.
Ps3 did alright with no killer app
What are you talking about? What context are you talking about?
The PS3 had Talladega Nights, though.
I thought people are excited for ZombiU?
lol. honestly though, that's probably the killer app and I bet it gets bundled with the system. AC3 and Mario Bros. no good? Really? Well, maybe not as killer apps but it's good stuff.
Watching the 3DS stream now and it's just hitting me as to why Sony didn't invest its own show exclusively to Vita. It has only been out a couple months so it's not so bad but maybe next year Sony will dedicate a show to just the Vita since they said they couldn't fit it into the 1 hour conference.
I guess I am the only one hoping ZombieU is as awesome as it appeared it could be.
that's so true
Just wait till they announce pokemon.
I think Nintendo will be looking at the large casual market who bought the Wii to make the jump to the WiiU. The Wii's success after all came from them not the hardcore gamers. MS know this hence their heavy support for the Kinect. Nintendo know this too and wont forget it either. The hardcore games will come, but not as strong or hard as the casual games, especially once the next gen xbox and ps have launched. People will buy the WiiU as it will be a cheap alternative to owning a tablet and console for the family. I.e tablet alone if Apple is £400. What I want to see is if MS will drop support for the 360 when the new one launches and once the new gen is on, how it will affect ps3 sales. I think the ps3 sales will hit their peak once the next ps is launched - cheaper ps3's and games being discounted. Wow, with all these assuptions, I should get paid like an analyst!
i think its fine for atleast the first year.
Yes this is my biggest problem with the Wii U thus far. The tech is awesome and revolutionary but where is that one game that makes the Wii U an instant buy. None of these games take full advantage of the power the Wii U supposedly has. Thus far all I see are ports and high resolutions Wii games. Rayman Legends is the best looking game and best exclusive game overall on the system right now and that's a 2D hand drawn platformer. Where is the next successor to Mario Galaxy? Metroid Dread? Star Fox?
I'm no nintendo fan at all, but Sigh...where did this killer app talk come from lately? There's more to it than simply "one game". Xbox had Halo-a distant, distant second Gamecube had Resident Evil 4-on many lists as one of the greatest games of all time-gamecube only sold 20 million units. Atari Jaguar had Alien vs. Predator-complete flop. A game console is a platform and isn't made/broken by one game. *gets off soap box BUT they do need to maybe fund more developers to show off the system
Nintendo is failing to grasp the Hardore audience attention, Grandmothers and Aunts must be satisfied first. You dont need killer APPS to grasp the casuals attention.
Pikmin 3 is definitely a killer app as far as I'm concerned. If you have a Wii, pick up a copy of Pikmin 2 when it's released on June 10th for only $20. If you don't fall in love with that game, then you don't have a soul.
Sorry, ZombiU looks plenty FLY to me. http://n4g.com/news/1013085... Also, MOST of the HANDS-ON Reviews of Nintendoland are positive and glowing. It's just that Nintendo did a bad job presenting it.
