Crysis 3 is powered by CryEngine 3 Plus; PC gamers will receive some extra love, DX11 confirmed

DSOGaming writes: "Man, how things have changed. The original Crysis was an amazing PC FPS title but it’s sequel was really restricted by consoles. Even though Crytek said – back then – that its development would not be limited by consoles, we said immediately that that would not be the case. Crytek afterwards revealed that the game was developed with consoles in mind and that’s one of the reasons why the nanosuit was redesigned (in order to be fully playable with a gamepad). Fast forward a couple of months and here we are today with Crytek admitting that Crysis 2 was held back by consoles and that Crysis 3 will offer some extra love to the PC gamers."

Ok crytek, you can try to win me back. But if you break my heart like your crysis 2 dx11. Well, it will make me sad.

Bob5702264d ago

Crytek can suck it. They aren't getting any more of my money, not after Crysis 2.

Not sure what the big deal about Dx11 is. I can't tell a difference between 10 and 11.

OneAboveAll2264d ago

ooo, Tessellation. So worth the performance hit.

Also now we don't have to worry about losing cloak when we use weapons!! This will be for the casuals even more now.

I think Runescape might be the only choice you have with a rig like that, and I'm not positive about that.

Draperc2264d ago (Edited 2264d ago ) could play Team Fortress 2 on low to medium settings maybe. Any game by valve is pretty well optimized to run on low end machines like yours.

guitarded772264d ago (Edited 2264d ago )

Are you from North Korea?

Draperc2264d ago

@guitarded77 What does that have to do with anything?

dark-hollow2264d ago (Edited 2264d ago )

I think your PC needs an upgrade all over.

you can get Radeon HD 6870, very excellent GPU that can run any modern game with ease. Or you can get the GTX 560 Ti (what I have on my rig) and believe me you won't be disappointed with either one of those.

At least 4 GB of ram, Intel Core i5-2400 CPU and you are good to go to blast through any game without any problem.
All those won't cost you over $400-$600 maximum.

And am sure more experienced pc gamers at the forums could give better suggestions if you consider the upgrade.

MAJ0R2264d ago

He asked if he was from North Korea because that country is so heavily oppressed that it literally has no innovation, and it's citizens do not have any type of technology beyond a clock they made with sticks.

It was basically a smart-ass comment, but kinda funny.

neonlight452264d ago

To simplify your gaming life, get a new PC. If you want to run games like Crysis 3 the first step would be educating your self about computer hardware components such as CPU's and GPU's, but if they are games that require less power like minecraft get a laptop with at least 4GB and a 2.2Ghz cpu or higher.

guitarded772264d ago (Edited 2264d ago )

What MAJOR said.

What neonlight45 said. You really need a new computer, if you want to play any new games. You could get something off the rack for about $500 - $600 that will basically run almost anything at lower - mid settings. If that's out of your price range, check pawn shops and craigslist. Like neonlight said, do some research. If you find it's still out of your price range, get an HD console if you don't have one... you can't beat the value of $200 - $300 for all the games you'll be able to play without having to worry about hardware issues. Hope this helps :D

"Crysis 3 will offer some extra love to the PC gamers."

Déjà vu.

Eyesoftheraven2264d ago

Extra, well-optimized love?

ninjahunter2264d ago

Haha, Optimized he says ;P

Eyesoftheraven2264d ago (Edited 2264d ago )

Well the Crysis 2 DX11 update was terribly optimized. Rendering the entire tessellated ocean no matter where you were relative to it in levels where there was a body of water and implementing high levels of tessellation to flat, unaffected geometry.

glennco2264d ago

haha. these guys just change their love all the time. release the best looking FPS (Crysis) and 95% of players pirated. Say never releasing just on PC again (Crysis 2) and they blame consoles for holding it back despite knowing full well C1 was going to look better than C2. Both games were extremely behind the times in gameplay and story.

these guys are beginning to sound like a joke. they need to seriously get out of the gaming side and just publish middleware. their games are just tech demos with the actual game as an afterthought and their strengths lie in graphics.
