IGN - E3 2012: The Very Un-Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance

IGN: "In name and look, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance may check off the required boxes for a Metal Gear game. In gameplay though, Revengeance feels utterly un-Metal Gear."

The story is too old to be commented.

So, NG3 'changing' killed the game. Rising trying something new kills the game. but DmC ditching all Japenese roots and changing to look nothing like the prior games is a great thing and a refreshing look?

Screw you IGN.

What people need to understand is that this is not a new Metal Gear Solid, its not trying to be. Its a completely new game set in the Metal Gear Universe, and I for one cannot wait for this game.

I absolutely agree with all of that, but...

"and I for one cannot wait for this game."

...while I sincerely hope you enjoy it, I have no interest whatsoever. I'd much rather have a new Snake clone pick up the story where Old Snake left off, or have another new flashback story with proper MGS gameplay, or even have remakes of the first Metal Gear games (pre MGS1) than MGR.

Kojima's limited involvement tells me more than the slightly different title or very different gameplay ever could. Konami wants a more action oriented title that ties in with Metal Gear, because there are more fans of action games than fans of stealth games.

This is Metal Gear Cry, Snake must be rolling in his tomb.
