Andriasang: Sony Computer Entertainment aims to sell ten million PlayStation Vita systems in the current fiscal year, SCE president Andrew House told Reuters in an interview conducted at E3 on the 5th.
3 or 25 or 60 or even 200 titles in development for the vita and they didn't even showed us anything at e3. They couldn't even confirm the rumored Castlevania LOS2 or LBPKarting for the Vita. They could've focused on vita games for 25 mins and that's enough to make vita gamers and potential consumers to buy more. And now 10 million units? CODBODeclassified is not until winter says tretton and I doubt ac3liberation will even help to sell that "much" units. Vita need it's own GTA and GoW plus some MGS and Final Fantasy to sell. New (and improved and much better) Uncharted will also help. But if Sony really wants a boost, a new Monster Hunter ( not a port of 3ds) will definitely doi the job at least in japan.
You realize that E3 is an industry event where only bits and pieces are broadcast to the public? While the CONFERENCE may have only shown a few titles, E3 itself (which officially started the day after the conference) has a lot more games to show. Upcoming Vita titles include (but are not limited to): Little Big Planet Vita Dragon's Crown Soul Sacrifice PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale Sound Shapes When Vikings Attack Assassin's Creed III: Liberation Madden NFL 13 Need For Speed Most Wanted Sly Cooper Thieves in Time FIFA Soccer 13 Warrior's Lair Silent Hill Book of Memories Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified Zero Escape: Virtues Last Reward Super Monkey Ball Banana Splits Persona 4 Golden Smart As Street Fighter X Tekken Spy Hunter LEGO Lord of the Rings Ragnarok Odyssey LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes Gravity Rush Metal Gear Solid HD Collection New Little King's Story Jet Set Radio HD Final Fantasy X HD KickBeat Zone of Enders And much, much, more. In addition to those titles, E3 revealed that PS One titles, PS3 GAMES remote play, more cross-platform functions, etc. are coming to Vita this summer. Not everything is shown at the conference but more is always shown on the show floor and otherwise before, during, and after E3. Anyway, it's only 4 months into the device. There's still a lot of time for it to pick up speed.
Warrior's Lair, Jet Set Radio, Zone of Enders collection. Clean up in isle Pants!!! :D I really want to see more on Warrior's Lair (formerly Ruin). Anything new on this title has dried up.
This line up (although could be better) is fine with me to be MORE than happy with my purchase.. Few key franchises may be missing now but Sony will not peak by putting out everything right away like Nintendo did.. Vita will grow in games and content endlessly.. I just hope that alot of eastern games make it stateside around the same time frame
E3 is a very long event. If you keep watching, there is plenty about the Vita at E3. You just looked at the keynote presentation. 12
The way that is selling right now it wont even reach 5 million by next year, Sony really need to announce games for it.They only talk of like 4 out of like 50 or more that are coming out this year for it.
Agreed....it's sad the only game I would honestly buy is lbp and won't buy a vita just for that
Fucking Gravity Rush, sir. And Persona 4: The Golden. What the hell is wrong with you?
@neo No need for hostility sir...it's my opinion sir...look at your agrees no one seems to acknowledge you sir. Peace.
What i would like to see is a good lineup of PS Vita games and a price drop as well.
I highly doubt it. But then again, that's what gamescom is all about, it's a Get-out-jail-free card to implement the important stuff. And please, for the love of god, don't give that ridiculous f*cking intro montage ever again.
I thought it had ended three different times... then it just kept going.
Vita is in the same position as the PS3 when launched People waiting for price cut People waiting for exclusives not ports 10 million in first year is wishful thinking
Yea i think $150 for a PS Vita WiFi would be reasonable.
$150 for a mini PS3. Yep, that's reasonable. Wait a year or two if that's your sweet spot. I can see them cutting it to $200, but no lower. At least for a good while. At this rate, they'll be coming out at TGS and apologizing for the "lack" of games. They could always have more though. So I won't complain.
They will need a pretty great gamescom then. Or a shocking TGS that gets the Japan market in a frenzy, like Monster Hunter.
I'm sorry love SONY but i don't see that happening at that price!! The Vita has been struggling bc of the high price point and lack of AAA games!!!
i hope that i will be one of people that will buy a vita this year
You guys don't even know their plan to achieve that goal. LOL!
Sony needs a price drop to get sales going, there is what about 2 mil in sales right now, and they want 10 mil in the first year. Good luck with that. Im waiting for a price drop before i buy for my kids, i do want it but, bill are bill so it will wait, and maybe Santa will bring it to them.
At just over 2 million in sales and its already June... Its been on sale for almost 3 1/2 months and six months in Japan... I dont think they will sell 8 million units by the end of the Fiscal year unless they give a price drop on the hardware and memory cards and more games... the longer sales are stagnant the harder it is to come out of it...
Don't know where they're going to bury 10 million vitas :P
I got a vita day 1, it was a weeks wages. If people cant afford that then the gaming industry is in real trouble, I have had my ps4 money saved up since last yr sitting in a bank and by the way I only earn £14,000 a yr. Seriously if u cant afford a vita u have the wrong hobby, I hate it when people moan about prices, gamers knew the vita was eventually going go come out and didnt bother saving, same goes for when they announce ps4 gamers will moan, its only been 6yrs since the ps3 came out, I put away £10 per month to be ready for ps4 same goes for my 3dtv, i started saving 2 yrs ago and
I could easily afford it. I don't think that's a problem. I just refuse to spend my cash until I feel its worth it. Be it by complete remote play, more games or a severe price cut on memory cards. I'll get it sometime just dont see the point atm
if they brought over RPG's from japan to US, Vitas would fly off the shelves.
edit:@ sprinterboy Agreed Gaming is quite the expensive hobby i mean theres usually around 1-2 good games releasing a fortnight. Not to mention 3rd and 4th quarters where theres an onslaught of AAA games. i mean a hardcore gamer could easily end up spending $5000-$8000 (AUSD) a year jus on games. Back to the topic 10M is a bit hopeful unless a major price-cut, but i have faith in the PS brand they never disappoint it may take 1 year or 2 but they definitely deliver on the goods except for PSPGO -___- y sony decided to compete with themselves with their own already great PSP is beyond me...
They don't need to show games...they need to release them ASAP. My vita is gathering dust, but I'm sure it will be a beast machine somewhere in the near future.
The more they delay next gen, the bigger the leap :)
... as we speak, I'm sitting here, watching gameplay of Ni No Kuni, which was hardly shown at the opening conference. If this is indicative of what tends to happen at E3- and I'm pretty sure it does- then there's plenty of stuff on display that didn't make the press conference. Is it so much of a stretch to think that Vita games will be the same?
