Gametrailers Confirms Actual Valve Presence At E3

Posted just recently on GameTrailers twitter account was confirmation that Valve will be appearing later today on stage at this year's E3 show. What could they possibly be there for? Probably not to show off Half Life 3... But there's always a chance.

I still can't understand why someone like Valve would travel all away to E3 just to show off two games which we've all known about since last year.

I mean they are both in their betas and lets not forget DoTA 2 is just for PC. I'm not "hating" on PC gamers I just don't think something like DoTA 2 is something you would travel all away to E3 to show off.

HL3 is the only thing which would make this years E3 not suck. They could over shadow something like the Wii U with HL3 news...it's that anticipated

Dota 2 is one of the biggest games of the year lol. Just because you have no interest in it, doesn't mean no one else does.

There's like 50,000 people playing the CLOSED beta at this very minute.

Why did you try and twist my comment

I never once said

"I have no interest in DoTA2 so others don't"

I'm just saying that with two games already announced before last E3 which were also shown behind closed doors there aswell, in their betas and with one of them a PC exclusive which lets face it at E3, a gaming expo mostly about console games, seems a bit pointless. Especialy for a developer like Valve, a company which could release them now and would still make a ton of money off them...well CS:GO anyway since DoTA2 is free 2 play

EDIT:Below

"Why are you suggesting that they not display their 2012 line up "

Again...twisitng my comment

I never once said

"Valve shouldn't show their line up"

I just said with all things considered it seems abit pointless for a developer like Valve since they've already announced them and shown them off

Pandamobile1936d ago

E3 is an entertainment expo. Why are you suggesting that they not display their 2012 line up to the general public? :\

First off in this day and age traveling from Bellevue, Washington (Valve Corp) to Los Angeles, California (E3) is like a 5 hour plane ride.

That's nothing considering all the people who flew in from JAPAN for a 1 hour Sony or Nintendo conference.

Second, DoTA 2 or anything Valve shows at E3 is worth it, seeing how Valve is better than 99.99% of all the companies at E3 anyway.

Third, with 51,298 people currently playing the DotA 2 beta RIGHT NOW which is the same Action RTS genre of League of Legends and it's 13 million players i say DotA 2 is worth it.

Fourth, I believe Valve will be there to talk more about Steam integration and or Video Game tech than just games seeing how Valve is MORE than just a "Game Company". Valve along with other PC Devs have Gamescon in which to talk about games.

Fifth, except for "Watch Dogs" we have ALL known about dam near "EVERY" console title shown (some longer than a year) but they all still came to E3 so exactly what is your point with this lame comment?

"I still can't understand why someone like Valve would travel all away to E3 just to show off two games which we've all known about since last year."

Sixth, your reply to Pandamobile about Valve's two new games making money Quote.... "Valve, a company which could release them now and would still make a ton of money off them...well CS:GO anyway since DoTA2 is free 2 play"

F2P games make a ton of cash which is why the PC has switched to the F2P business model. Obviously you know ZERO about PC Gaming.

Seventh, just STFU! Both your post were pointless. Like I said many of those titles at E3 were already shown and some we have even known about for over a year but they all showed up so just why should ONLY Valve stay home?

user54670071936d ago

Oh look at the little troll being immature and saying stuff like "STFU"

If my opinion was pointless then so was yours, least mine was mostly on topic.

Valve may have just wanted to go for the heck of it and be part of the experience; its not like they need to cut down on spending or anything.

GillHarrison1936d ago

They just announced the release date for Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, so one would believe that they would be showing CS: GO, and maybe DOTA2, for publicity.

Zha1tan1936d ago (Edited 1936d ago )

CS:GO im not interested in for the reason it has the current counterstrike "pros" helping develop it so basically it is going to be no different to the current counterstrike.

We need Half life 3

I'm still waiting on Left4Dead3!
