Nintendo have Today detailed the battery life for the Wii U Controller.
Not bad, I mean everyone always hopes for more when it comes to battery life.
-_- ....hmmm.... Not to sure how I feel about that. Let's push for 6 - 8 Nintendo, although 3 - 5 should be fine for most gaming sessions.
Same as PS Vita..
It's much larger though so you would a bigger battery than the Vita's. Saying that though, the controller always has a dedicated stream of data to and from the console which is probably why it's only 3 - 5 hours. It's not a big deal anyway since it's not a portable.
This is typical battery life for such an advanced device.
Battery life isn't too much of an issue since this isn't to be taken with you everywhere you go.
Did anyone noticed that big cable that was connected through the gamepad? Anyways 3 to 5 hours sounds ok.
they said that its like that because its not wireless yet.
If it has an inner rechargable battery- no problem.
AA batteries are much better (rechargeable obviously) so I think im destined for dissapointment.
You actually think wasting so much money on batteries makes sense? WTF is wrong with you?!
I've probably spent 20 quid in five years on batteries. Not bad seeing as I can easily switch them out and always have at least one set charged, no cables. Wham bam thank you mam. and WTF is wrong with you, Have some manners. no wonder you were on my ignore list ya douche.
So you'd rather spend money on batteries than to not have to spend anything at all with a rechargeable inner battery? AA batteries on the Wii were such a hassle.
Ok I'll try and make this crystal. It's a tiny price to pay to ensure there's never a need to turn your wireless controller into a wired controller. I want less cables thank you and I have no regrets seeing as they've been so useful to have around for loads of stuff. Money well spent and who knows maybe ill get another 5 years out of them.
And yes it will come with a cable to recharge. I'd rather plug it in and continue to play than stop to replace the batteries and pay for them.
you do that. Ill use the superior mothod. Now watch you dont trip over those cables. lol
You can exaggerate to make a point all you want. But you only use the cable to charge. It's unlikely that anyone will trip. I like how your "superior method" won't actually exist lol. But you go ahead and pile up on batteries. Here's a FACT: CD players, MP3 players, handheld gaming devices, controllers, ALL stopped using AA batteries.
So can you play it while charging? I some times play for more than 5 hours so if I can't play while it charges then meh.
Did you even bother to read the article?
Yes you can play while it is charging. I mentioned in the article :)
oops my bad I must have misread that. I can easily assume that this AC adapter will be quite lengthy because there isn't an outlet near my game chair.
Yes I'm sure Nintendo took into account the layout of your living room when designing the AC adapter.
The battery life of a portable on a console. Nice one Nintendo.
The GamePad is pretty thick (which is not a bad thing), how does it only hold 3-5 hours of battery life. It must be pretty empty inside.
I love how the Vita was brought up here. Oh yes, let's compare a controller to a handheld system. That makes sense.
so roughly 4 hours with medium settings.. Thats OK at best for a controller but since it has a screen, its forgivable but still.. WTF were they thinking when they outlined their conference?! Where they trying to turn off the core audience?
No a problem to me, I don't mind having it plugged in most of the time lol
