It appears that Zombie gameplay is being taken to a new level with Zombie U.
this sounds rage worthy.
Is Hideo Kojima behind this game? This sounds like one of his genius ideas. TGSI
agreed, this would make the game scary. when u die u actually die. you'd be scared to go into a room because you wouldn't know whats in there, will there be 10 zombies ready to kill u? i want
True, but they give you a lot of gadgets from what I've seen in that CG video. Just have to play smart and plan accordingly I guess lol.
LMFAO you can hear all of the gamers now, saying *GAWD DAMMIT THE HEALTH PACK WAS RIGHT THERE!!!*
It's called: PERMA-DEATH Been dealing with it for a while now in the greatest Zombie game ever made DAY Z! although Zombie U has some nice WiiU features but Day Z is just so REALISTIC.
Hey, we all wanted survival horror now this basically as far as it can get.
It's a 100% must buy for all Wii U owners imo..
This is what you call survival horror lol.
More games should do this, that's probably why i like Demons/Dark Souls so much, i like challenging games Ill have to see some more though before i decide
It's a survival game. I think this is a good idea, especially if the intent is to give it a sense of challenge.
I see this turning off a lot of gamers, but it sounds great to me. You only get one chance in life, so let's see if you can survive a true zombie apocalypse.
Have you only been gaming 6 years? This was how we rolled in the 80's
Yeah with crappy 8-bit games.
This is what I really don't like about today's gaming.... too easy, less challenging, and less original overall than say the 80's or even the 90's. But that's the way it is now, casual gaming is what's going to kill/killing the gaming industry and the developers are either to pompous to admit it or just care about the $ sign. :s
@ sepihroth ...which took more skills than any CoD game, ever. Which explains the universal popularity of a piece of crap game these days.
@SephirothX21 Some of those 8-bit games are some of the best games available. A game doesn't need to look HD to be awesome. If you've never actually played any 8-bit games, I really suggest checking some of them out. Maybe you'll appreciate games a little more.
Back in my day sonny, we wiped our butt with sand paper, we chewed on rocks just for the taste of dirt, and we did not play games to have Fun- we played games to work HARD! And if we were sissy enough to admit we had problems we called the Nintendo Hotline or waited a month for the new Nintendo Power Magazine. And we Liked It! All of you guys had me rolling. Good Comment Abizzel1
@CouldHaveYelledUiiW You forgot you to mention you had to get your parents to mortgage the house to ring those lines. Yup I was a sissy...I was also a poor sissy. There are some Dizzy games I never finished.
@hawkboi Actually I've been gaming since the days of NES. 1 life for the entire game is something that current gen gamers aren't use to, nor will most of them like that. Heck 1 life per stage is too much for them with no checkpoint system. I'm just speaking for the majority here.
You are a proud member from the "hardcore" community. end sarcasm.
DayZ has it and it works great
Now that's what you call "hardcore" not the blood and guts but the challenge, makes a lot of sense for a zombie survival game. Places a sense of urgency on the player and makes every decision count that much more. Personally sounds like a great move.
It sounds interesting, that's for sure. If the gameplay itself is done well, this may just turn out to be one pretty sweet game. I'll be keeping my eye on this.
wow imagine playing 6 hours into the game and you die and have to start all over again. Now thats even more hardcore than demon souls.
No I don't think that's how it will work. I think you start in the same area just as a new character without the supplies. If you want that stuff you dropped, you have to find your last character's zombie, which is kind of like Demon's Souls.
view the video, the guy dies and spawns in a completely different area. http://www.youtube.com/watc...
@xtremexx You can get your old equipment back by killing your old characters zombie. But depending on were you "spawn", that might take awhile/be more risky than worth it. Overall, the game sounds great.
This news gives me the sense that either 1. starting off will be easy (like finding your first gun will be layed out infront of you) 2. the game isn't very long and the "re-tries" are meant to extend such a limited amount of gameplay.
I am well prepared for a zombie apocalypse. I guess I will test my theory with this game.
I bet you the game is 25 minutes long, then. lol
What about saves? You didn't see that one coming did ya?
I'm guessing it will have auto saves to make sure nobody exploits the system and keep playing as the same survivor
So it's like minecraft. If you die, all of your equipment stays where you died, so you could find your stuff but you also risk dying again. Awesome.
It's like an offline version of DayZ.
I'm assuming save points like Dead Rising 2?
This is great. Too many people are spoiled by today's games where there is a a checkpoint every 5 feet and health regens just by standing there.
anyone else dissapointed that killer freaks was looking quiet good. still this does look good need to see more gameplay vids tho.
I loved Day Z. I said last night this won't be as tactical or annoyingly difficult (thanks to bugs and what not) but it'll be great to see what a console can do with something like it. I hope it's MP, and not simple MP like Death Match or 2-4 player MP, but like...full living servers like Day Z.
I'm pretty sure it retains Killer freaks MP. Up to 4 survivors VS the tablet player commanding the hoard of zombies and their placement.
Oh yeah, forgot about that. Read that last night. But still...I'm down with full living servers.
Good! I always wondered how the characters from RE could receive various bites and keep being human.
ok so you get one life "per survivor" and if you die you get a different survivor to control. to get your supplies back you need to find your previous character who is now a zombie and retrieve the backpack you once had.
I know a lot of people are being all "yeah bring it on, you modern gamers don't know a thing about challenge", but this just sounds more like an unnecessary pain in the ass than worthwhile device. I'd be lying if I said I don't enjoy flying through games like a super hero, death inflicting god.
We all do from time to time, but the thing is, most games have us doing that constantly. I'd rather play a few challenging games here and there that will make me feel like I've actually accomplished something, mixed in with the pure, unadulterated fun of breezing through a game. I could totally see myself going from this to Mario. Take a break from the challenge with some mind-numbing fun, and then back to the "Oh God I swear if I die agaOHSHITNOTAGAIN!" that ZombiU promises. One thing: Change the fucking name, Ubisoft.
I know everyone is happy that Nintendo has a new console and saying anything against them at this point is taboo but that sounds annoying and pointless not to mention it is ANOTHER zombie game. People gave Last of Us hell for being anything resembling a zombie game. And now it's 'A zombie game for the Wii U? Cool'. Double standards I am guessing?
So a third party game is giving more interest in buying WiiU then Nintendo's own software. The only game i'm remotely interested in was Pikmin 3 from Nintendo. What was more funny, I was all set to laugh at them even showing Lego City! And that game actually didn't look to bad and had more interest than Nintendo Land. Nintendo should have had more in store fore the core fanbase. After all this was what Iwata addressed before hand in a previous interview. When does Nintendo think that they are going to get another world stage to really sell the value of the system? It's launching this year and i'm kind of skeptical myself of doing a day 1 purchase...
If it is true then the phrase Nintendo hard from the nes and snes days will be back.
it better be short lol.
Ahh! I have to hurry up and become a game developer before they steal my idea! lol
This is awesome. It'd be even cooler where you can starve to death. So if you want to live you can choose to take a risk and go outside where the zombies are or just be somewhere safe, but die slowly with no food, water or supplies. Even cooler would be if it was an MMO where you could kill other people for supplies and make alliances. Kind of the ARMA 2 mod: DAY Z.
This, P-100, PIKMIN, Rayman Origins is all I need for this holiday's release. I can wait for next year's E3 to bring in the BIG GUNS.
Man its gonna blow if I need to go out or somewhere or like take a piss.. Can I pause the game find a safety zone and save or something... Or will the game bring a little canteen for me to take a piss in so I feel like i'm trying to survive.
I won't die, because I'll be updating my scanner. http://i.imgur.com/j8WvG.pn...
this is the formula...demons soul..dark souls
