Battlefield 3 Close Quarters Release Date Revealed

So the Battlefield 3 patch is out now! But as of right (1PM CET, 7AM EDT) the servers have not been updated yet. So if you download the patch you might be stuck until they update the servers to the newest version. But the patch is large, 2.38GB so make sure you let it download when your not trying to play. With the update came all the info about Battlefield Premium. Check all of it out after the jump! (Battlefield 3, Dice, E3, EA, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

I think Close Quarters is out next Tuesday for Premium, then just add 2 weeks on for non premium holders

Premium will be activated sometime today (probably after the EA press conference at E3)

I don't have Back to Karkand so i'm definitely getting it. Also, don't assume that everyone that has BF3 has B2K. I wasn't able to pre-order the game hence no freebie DLC. However i was definitely gonna get Close Quarters and then this premium thing started popping up which i think is a pretty solid deal for $50.

if you have ps3 you get close quarters today, not to mention all the extras

Bf premium on 360 comes out next tuesday(i assume you get cqc dlc with that)
Hanif-876  +   355d ago
Nope PS3 gets DLC's from DICE a week earlier. Therefore, Xbox360 will get in on the fun on the 19th June.

look at the screenshots again.... they are made on 360 and it clearly says 2012/06/12

FFS these bloody dirty ass people and their early access shit.. why can't they just be released for everyone at the same time? Business practices in the gaming industry seem to be getting dirtier and dirtier, I dread to think where we will be in the next 10 years.

Still don't know what the big deal is, as long as it is "early access" and not "exclusive access".
EA is a profit-based company. And as a company you want to get as many pre-orders as possible because it is easier to work that way (there are a LOT of reasons buisness-wise). Hence you promise the gamer early access, and the gamer tends to buy it earlier then (in this case: Buy into premium which at this state is something like a "pre-order"). They give the gamer something for being loyal to the franchise. I can see nothing wrong with that... What is your problem? Just wait two weeks - problem solved. If you want early access, buy it. It's not like that this is harming you in ANY way...
Also "gaming industry"? It has been like this for years, in every other industry. Take cars for example - I live next to Mercedes and they do it ALL THE TIME. Preorder the newest car from them and you get the car (from the factory) before it released onto the market. You'll also get a better deal. There are a lot more examples out there, you just choose to ignore them.

Release date is publicly known as 11th of june & always has been. Fed up of these constant "release date leaked" headlines to bring people in when they've been known all along.

Just checked the images & it does say 12th there must be time difference. It was advertised originally as 11th plus ive just tried to download this patch & its not available yet

i got close quarters today when i got the premium

IF you have the PS3 version and go to the premium section, it says close quarters releases TODAY.

EA announced last E3 that the PS3 version gets DLC drops a week early (6/12/2012 minus 1 week = 6/5/2012, minus an extra day so that EA could line it up with their conference, means that PS3 gets it today, 6/4/2012).

No thanks. I bet that some of the new guns will be over the head on the new maps like the MG36 on B2K back then. More glitches and bugs will be fixed in August.
