Total sales for the 2007 holiday period were $2,334.4 million, a 34.7 percent increase from the prior year holiday period of $1,732.8 million. Comparable store sales for the holiday period increased 20.0 percent.
Gamestop hurts this industry more than any other single source. They take profit from used game sales and NONE of that $ ever makes it back to the developer. Customers coming in to get a NEW game get pressured to buy the USED game for 5 bucks cheaper and then Gamestop takes ALL the profit. I hope they rot in hell.
