Resistance: Burning Skies Review - TGH

"The PS Vita has suffered the fate of many new pieces of hardware, after a launch period of interesting and promising games, it’s lain stagnant and untouched until something big comes along to warrant your attention. The newest in this line of hopeful attractive titles is Nihilistic Software’s entry into the Resistance series of games with Resistance: Burning Skies. Whilst its main draw is the prospect of playing a console FPS on a handheld for the first time – via the use of dual analogue sticks like a grown up game – Nihilistic manage to replicate the quality of the painfully average Resistance franchise rather well, which is to say it’s still a dull game." as i said to another resistance fan do yourself a favor and go pick it up, the game is freaking great, best fps game i have ever played on a portable device, nothing comes even close. online multiplayer is tons of fun. I don't trust reviewers, once one of them start hating then the others follow, go to the playstation community or resistance forums and see what others gamers like you are saying about the game, most of the comments are positive ( of course they cant please us all ) but the majority are happy with their purchase.

Yeah, I really like the Multiplayer... it's kept me interested in the game even after I platinumed it (which was too quick, imho)...

same here i plat the game and honestly i keep going back for the MP its tons of fun. overall decent shooter.

All in with the above. The MP is fast and ferocious and have been having a blast. The art style for the game was interesting as well. Very tight controls - practically a blueprint. Love the fire ax.

It really is an enjoyable game from start to finish. And the online MP is a blast (this is coming from a SP guy). I'd echo the above. If you like FPS games - and Resistance in particular - you'll likely think it's worth every penny.

My only gripes: The sound effects can be sketchy (hollow & metallic at times, very nice at others), at launch it took a while to get into MP games (I'm not having any more issues now), and the platinum was a little too quick (which I hate to admit)

The upsides far outweigh any of those minor issues. Looks very good - generally good throughout and excellent in certain areas. Plays great, tight controls and gunplay (nice run solution, touch screen controls work fab).

And ah, yes, the gunplay... The weapons are a hoot - love the SWARM with 4 missile individual targeting, the Six Eye is a sweet sniper rifle (love the alt fire), the crossbow gun is ridiculous (napalm anyone?).

I rarely come to the defense of a game. But in the case of this Resistance entry, the low scores border on criminal - and reek of lost credibility (at least in this gamer's eye).

Listen to all these people. This game is absolutely worth a purchase. Especially for a Resistance fan. Great game, and the MP is tons of fun.
