GRID 2 confirmed, in production

IncGamers: Codemasters are indeed working on Race Driver: GRID 2, IncGamers can confirm.

The news came from an interview we conducted recently with Iain Smith, an associate producer at Codemasters who has worked on Dirt 3 and Dirt Showdown. (GRID 2, PC, PS3, Xbox 360)

Yes! my favorite racer from this gen is back for more.

It would be nice if in this one you can edit your own race tracks and publish them online.

Great news indeed.
GRID is such an amzing game. Looks gorgeous, handles perfectly, great sensation of speed etc etc.

I hope for lots of cool locations to race through! Hopefully more gorgeous cities and nature tracks, instead of boring circuits.

Good Lord! I thought they'd never announce a sequel!

Now I can rest assured that there's a sequel in the works.

OMG!!! it's about dam time... I've been dying for this game to come out already, what the hell took them so long..

They should have been known that they need to be making a part 2..???

@ Yi-Long -I could not say it better, the game did have an amazing feel of speed, one of the things I loved the most about GRID.

I mean I loved GRID the game looked amazing and had this amazing feel... to finally hear that PART 2 is finally on it's way, I just can't wait.. hope it shows up at E3

GRID looked amazing, can't wait to see what GRID 2 will look like.. The F1 driving in the game was absolutely amazing and done so well.. So many good things in GRID the rewind feature, the speed the presentation, the ranking up -really missed this Game.

-Can't wait for it's return

Gone off Codemasters lately after the last few PS3 games, also they should be able to get their Ego engine running at 60fps by now!! Driver SF runs smooth with a lot more going on on screen!!

Thank. God. I would race my ass off in that game, just knowing that when it was over, I was gonna be treated to a bad ass replay. Seriously, I'd win the race, turn on the replay and let it loop endlessly as a screen saver. A few people were fooled into thinking it was real.

NICE!! I've always thought Codemasters did a great job with their racing games.. I used to play the hell out of Colin MacRae's Rally back in the day, and Grid and Dirt stole my heart on day one! Hopefully they bring back the demolition derby races in Grid 2!

I'm really hoping for the return of a more creative and dynamic presentation in the solo career, after the fairly spartan Dirt 3 and the barebones approach of Showdown.

And of course, I also expect the split screen we've seen in Codemasters racers that have come out since Grid 1, but I think that's a given.

I hope they don't change anything!!!!. I don't even want a new game engine or anything. Just keep it the same, new tracks, same feel, same driving. I hope they don't screw it up. I have been waiting for this so long. I would still be playing Racedriver: Grid on PS3 if they didn't take the servers down.

Woo! GRID is one of the best racing games out there. It's the perfect mix of Sim and arcade.

I hope they don't screw it up. =\

Good news for the fans of GRiD, but for me GRiD was one of the biggest disappointments this gen. Why? DTM Racedriver 3, their last game last gen, miles better & no Hollywood BS, and although graphically a bit less the DTM series still outshined Gran Turismo imo. DTM had all the races, good handling, and most of all the pure racethrills that GT so lacked last gen.
But with GRiD the beloved Codies went nuts. Apperently they had to in order to survive next to Forza & GT, but I didn't like the new formula at all. Same with DiRT, gone are the long rally stages that took days, weeks to perfect, everything is much prettier yes, but shorter. Too short to rally. But the handling is still allright, so DiRT I still buy and play, not GRiD. I tried, 90 degree turns faster than the Batmobile and the crowd goes wild. Pffff...

Yeah dirt has been ruined mate! One of my faces last gen was rallisport 2 an ms game wish they'd do a 3rd but never gonna happen. Oh well hope grid 2 is better Han dirt 2 & 3
