Red Dead Redemption developer working on GTA 5?

Red Dead Redemption developer Rockstar San Diego could be collaborating with Rockstar North on the development of Grand Theft Auto V, according to the online CV of an ex-Rockstar developer. (Grand Theft Auto V, PC, PS3, Rockstar North, Rockstar San Diego, Xbox 360)

Nothing out of the ordinary here, they've got the knowlege and talent to help.

Don't the various R* studios usually share their assets? Like I'd assume the good looking floria in GTA V will have partially come from RDR. Much like the guns will be very similar to Max Payne.

True, but its good to hear the 2 best studios are working on GTA. R*Toronto helped with GTA4 and all they did was The Warriors.

Its safe to say San Diego could be their most talented team right now.

Same company so I am not surprised that would happen.

One of the best multiplayer experiences I've ever had. I wish it were on PC too, let's hope the next one is.

Yeah it's a familiar pattern but one I like!

Didn't Rockstar always use multiple branches for GTA? I remember always seeing different logos on start-ups? I remember it more from SA. Or was that not to indicate that?

I don't think so, it's always Rockstar North that handles the main games. If this is true it might mean good news for Agent.
GillHarrison  +   792d ago
Rockstar always utilizes all of its studios to get a game out the doors. This is nothing new.

Hopefully they are working on Red Dead Redemption 2. GTA 5 is fine, but I would much prefer RDR2.
Fishy Fingers  +   792d ago
Why not? Red Dead was every bit as good as a GTA title.

You might prefer the modern setting of GTA but you can't knock RD on being a fantastically well made game.

I thought Red Dead was MUCH better than GTAIV.

Playing RDR right now! It's so fun.

Does this really matter, its been four plus years since IV, it has taken long enough. Well only two months till Sleeping Dogs, the best hand to hand combat in any GTA game ever made, plus handcuffing the police, check. Fight clubs, jobs, favors, over 150 side missions, 20 hour story, and environmental kills. SWeeet, me dont want no Los Santos again.

Well, Rockstar SD did develop the RAGE engine. An engine which is basically used by all Rockstar games now. So I wouldn't be surprised if they helped out on the technology side of things.

I know I'm too early... Even though it's a R* sd dlc. let's hope R* borrows the idea so we can see a "undead nightmare in los Santos" for next halloween:)
