Pendulous Review - A Swinging Good Steampunk Time | IGM

As we all know, there are many variations on the platforming genre, and many ways to go about designing one. Many of these variations involve minor tweaks to the core “run and jump” formula, but a few of them are essentially modifications to that core formula, where the concept of “run and jump” is reinterpreted to create a truly unique experience. Such is the case with Pendulous, a platformer by developer Strange Attractor, which utilizes a swinging mechanic to propel your character, a sort of circular clockwork gear, hurtling through an abstract steampunk world as you strive to avoid obstacles in pursuit of each level’s end goal. (Pendulous, Xbox 360) 77/100
