20 years of the first-person shooter Darn I'm old! I've been fragging MOFOS on every platform but mostly PC in First Person for a long time.
Pong (not a FPS but the start of gaming), Worlfenstein 3D, Doom, Tribes, BF1942, Half Life, COD, Halo, Crysis, Arma, Half Life 2, BF3 etc
but there was nothing like STALKER and Day Z to combine the two greatest aspects of gaming together perfectly, FPS and RPG into a wonderful total gaming experience.
