GP: "If your hobby involves reading books, watching movies, or playing games then you're going to need some form of suspension of disbelief. Things are going to happen in these fantasy worlds that aren't going to happen in real life. That's the whole point of immersing yourself into another world; you usually don't want to be put in a setting that mimics where you are right now in life.
But there are some things in games that are just so obviously flawed I can't help but point them out. Things in games that make you think 'Just what is going on in their world?! Why are things like this!?' While there are plenty of examples I could name off, I've narrowed my list down to four."
I better play some games witch teach me something.. games like GT, Mafia, Battlefield are not perfect simulations, but at least have something about real world you can use in your own life..
I dont want to know nothing about orcs or trolls! :)
Stated above was my opinion! I didn't put it as a fact.. anyway, what I meant is that i want to use something I learned from movies, games, discovery channel, what ever you into.. its better when you know something about science and cars etc.. than some meaningless powers in skyrim and how to slay a dragon.. :)
And don't get me wrong, I do believe in games as media that can teach you stuff much beyond those politically correct educative games. The only reason I can post here is because games made me learn some english. There's a ton of stuff that I only ended researching because of games.
I also understand that games like GT can teach you the basics (and only the basics) of how someone drives a high power car in high speed without messing up, although there's no feedback available that quite prepares you for it... That holds truth for most sims, even the professional ones.
But it's not like you know how to properly operate a gun just because you can push a trigger in a controller, chances are you don't even know how to unlock safety, you don't get how different triggers work. You may end up with a hole in your foot though.
Just saying, most games won't teach you any of their main action.
And then don't want to waste your time on things that don't exist?
Well, that is your preference and there isn't anything wrong with that but there is not one video game that simulates real life better than real life.
And don't we play video games to be put in situations where we can't be in real life?

and I never really liked lord of the rings, Star wars or Garry Proper... dont know why Im not into it.. but I understand it might be fun for others.. art and stuff.. cant really argue about that!
But to each their own. Just know that you're in a minority.
Like what?
Too realistic and it losses creativity(without fantasy even pong would never exist)
Too Fantasical and it losses the ability to convince someone there part of the journey and not just the player(simplely put fantasy can help immersion but too much can hurt it)
