Kuma’s Thought: 3D vs. 2D fighters

What is up fighting community this is Kuma and this question has been circling my mind for a long time and I thought I would do a piece about 3d fighters vs. 2D fighters. In my opinion it seems the 2d realm is the dominate platform in the fighting community, but please read my post and share your thoughts on the subject. Also on a side note the video's I am showcasing in my post are Skullgirls, Street FighterXTekken and VF 5, but VF 5 video is kind of loud so just giving you a heads up.

It depends on the game, both can be good or bad. Personally, I prefer 2D or 2.5D, but there are also many 3D fighting games that I like.

I can understand that. As I stated in my post I am a martial arts fighter and found it too limited. Reminded me of that Fatal Fury movie part two where Terry Bogard is playing his own game and sucking at it lol. That is pretty much me with 2d fighters.

I vastly prefer 2d or 2.5d . But i still enjoy tekken and Soul Calibur .

Soul calibur is the only one of the bunch fully using 3d spacing .

"The only time I really excelled at a 2D fighter was when Super Street Fighter 4 AE graced my presence. It made me feel comfortable as a tug of war fighter and the combos were fluid, however my buzz was bashed when someone said it was made for newbs; which meant it was more user friendly than the other titles."

Meh that's only the drivel usually sprouted by haters and folks annoyed by , the ultras or the lack of parry .

It's maybe not the most hardcore game , but it has huge depth . You might wanna also try King of fighters XIII however

Don't listen to the haters, those are the people that could not adapt to the play style of the game and since more users found it friendly and they could not bully the masses too easily they got mad about. You brought up an interesting point, thanks for stopping by.

With Street Fighter 6 now upon us, it's time to look back at some classic Street Fighter titles, beginning with Street Fighter X Tekken.

It was a cool gamble imo. In reality, everyone were waiting for Namco version, Tekken X Street Fighter.

Ryuha1234h317d ago

I don’t know. I enjoyed this game. I thought it was a great crossover.

TricksterArrow317d ago (Edited 317d ago )

Yep, played very little of it, but from what I played, it was serviceable enough. Could've been better? Yes, but then again, you can say that about pretty much anything.

What killed this game was their planned reliance on GaaS with the whole gem system. It made little sense and made the game extremely unbalanced. Not to mention the unbalance of most of the characters, especially on the Tekken side

Ahhh the game that Capcom had DLC on the disc on release yet you had to pay to unlock it
