I really hope so... The last two or three have been disappointing to me. Why can't there be a super major announcement? Like the FFVII remake, I'm too tired to think of others, but something around that magnitude that just comes out of nowhere. I want something that blows me away. I kind of hate this day and age, where everything game related is revealed so quickly and every little detail is known before a game is even launched. Takes the fun out of the surprise. Yet, I can't seem to stop going online to check gaming news, either that or friends tell me news lol.

Do people really care about a remake of a 15 year old game. Who cares. That announcement wouldn't be of any magnitude at all. How about something new, and fresh.

Yes people care, that's been obvious since this gen first started and that tech demo was shown...

I agree, it would be a huge announcement.

Square Enix wont develop a FFVII remake, for several reasons:

- since Squaresoft merged with Enix, they're more into profitability than quality;

- remaking such huge game with HD graphics would require a huge budget, many development time, many time in alpha-testing, etc... Too much risks for a single game;

- all fans can't be satisfied: some would just like a HD re-texture, some would like a full 3D game, some would like old school turn-by-turn battle system, some would prefer something more dynamic, etc... Make a choice and you'll have happy fans on a side, angry fans on the other side;

- the relative success of Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core and Advent Children certainly show to Square Enix that FFVII is a license that belongs to the past;
