DualShock Nexus: There have been a lot of rumors indicating that Grand Theft Auto V will be released sometime in late 2012, while myself and many others want this to happen, a 2013 release for Grand Theft Auto V is more likely.
Gta 5 will be released in 2012 because they delayed bioshock in 2013(february). With that move they got space for october/november/december gta 5 release without delays, and on 1st trailer we saw gta 5 is alrdy deeeep in development(cars, people, beache s,planes,mountains...),this is not only buildings(gta 4 1st trailer)this is almost done game! So cut the cr*p with those speculation, check FACTS!!!
Stopped reading after "will be released in 2012 because of bioshock" bioshock has nothing to do with gta 5. They are not releasing it based on the release date of another game.
They're both published by 2K. Releasing them close to each other would only reduce their sales.
@Vyke3 Both published by 2K huh? Seems legit.
I doubt you'd see reduced sales because they're both from the same publisher. I want both games and I'll buy both games, even if they came out on the same day. I don't buy one game and play it to death before I purchase another, I like a variety of games and I play through a few at the same time.
Rumor has it that GTA V MIGHT release in: 2012 October 2012 November 2012 Holiday 2012 2013 March 2013 April 2013 September 2012 October 16th 2012 November 7th 2012 April 22nd 2013 January 31st 2013 February 21st 2013 October 11th 2012 Somewhere between November 5th and November 17th 2012 etc etc etc Who the fk cares. Tell me when it IS releasing. Until we know that, stfu. We don't need a new rumored GTA V release date article every damn day. ~not directed at whoever I replied to, just talking about these rumored release date articles in general~
Hopefully they wait till they can hire the guy to apply the ICeNhancer Mod to GTAV PC!!! I'll be happy to wait for the Ice Mod before i buy GTAV!
Have fun waiting! ;)
I really dig Hayssam's work, but I'm going to get this day one when it hits consoles. I'll just get it again when it hits PC several months later.
@Vyke3 Last time I checked Take Two Interactive published Rockstar games not 2K.
2K is owned by Take-Two
@Cash I know Take Two owns both of them, but I'm disagreeing with the false statement that 2K publishes Rockstar games. 2K games is completely different from Rockstar and they don't publish Rockstar games Take Two does.
Not really. We already got 2 huge games in November(Halo and Black Ops 2) It would be stupid to release it anywhere near that. October is too close, and no one releases games in December. So September would be a good date if the game is ready.
The fact that Bioshock was delayed does not mean it is a fact that GTA is filling the void. Do I hope do? Of course, but Im not going to sit around calling my opinion a fact. And the trailer looked to be mostly, if not entirely, cutscenes. So that doesn't mean much to me.
~Wrong post.~ So here's some off-topic nonsense: Quick Chek now has hotdogs.. I ordered a chili-dog with cheese. Just a little FYI. Tasted damn good, but kinda expensive. ~$3.30 or so. Should be $2.00-$2.50.
When ever they decide to release it i will be fine with sooner-great i get to play it... later-damn i wish it was sooner but the antisapation im feeling is sweet x)
I'd rather wait for 2013 than later this year. I would hate to see Rockstar pull a DICE (Battlefield 3) and rush the game.
I'd like all the information you know about the development if you can make a bold claim like that.
From what I've read devs like Patrick Bach wanted to wait a couple months to release Battlefield 3, but it was EA's decision to release the game when it was released to compete with Call Of Duty's sales. Look it up. EDIT: Meant to put, pull a EA, not DICE. I noticed my morning derpiness.
Nah, I meant for Rockstar, I know BF3 was rushed, it's EA and I could totally see it.
It's gonna release next year because Agent is releasing this holiday season. And I'll gladly eat those words if I'm wrong.
For as little as we know about GTA V, we know much less about Agent. What in the world could convince you that Agent (without even a trailer) will be out in the next 6 months?
Michael Pachter... that's what. Now normally, I'd take what he says with a grain of salt. He's usually right about 50% of the time. But I learned something a few weeks back. He actually meets with Sony, MS, and Nintendo before E3 to discuss what they'll be showing. So at this moment he knows most of what will be shown at all 3 conferences. When he was asked by Geoff Keighly what game he'd like to see at Sony's conference he said Agent. Not only that he said that he expects R* to show agent on Sony's stage and that he expects the game will be released by the end of the year. Now he said it as pure speculation, but I think he knows something. It's too bold of a claim. Especially, sense he talks to R* a lot.
Without looking into any of what you said, and accepting it as fact that Pachter did actually say all that he expects R* to show Agent at E3 (even while knowing that R* doesn't even attend the expo), that would still put Agent about 8 months behind GTAV. I can't even remember the last time a AAA game was first shown less than 6 months before its release. I'm not convinced that GTAV will come out this year at all, but I would put the odds at 10-to-1 that GTAV is released before Agent.
Look I know someone who works at rockstar now I cannot give you the date its due out but I can tell you it's out in late 2012
If I had a pound for everytime someone said they worked at Rockstar I would of made GTA5 my damn self.
Seems like every nameless person on the internet has intimate knowledge of R*'s inner workings... and I don't believe a single one of them.
Take Two financial estimates for this fiscal year claim $2.25 share price which means GTA5 will release March 2013 at the latest. They also have two games themselves releasing in October. 2013 is likely.
Some may argue that a Spring 2013 release may seem likely for GTA V. While it's true that all of Rockstar's recent big games have released in the Spring, it's also true that most of them were delayed. GTA IV was originally scheduled for an October 2007 release. Red Dead Redemption was slated for Fall 2009. L.A. Noire was expected to launch in Fall 2010. So they were still targeting the traditional fall release window, but the games kept getting pushed back. The same could happen for GTA V. Rockstar might still be planning an October release, but who knows if that date would even stick. And when is the last time a Rockstar game actually came out on its first announced release date? Maybe they are waiting to mention a release date for GTA V until they are certain they can meet the deadline. They don't want to disappoint us yet again.
if delaying to spring is a mistake they've made enought already, I think we should be certain R* wouldn't make the same mistake with GTA V. Take Two says affirmed that their predictions will have GTA V release before March 31, 2013. I think release wise for publishers, it's either Fall (Oct/Nov) or May. A Spring 2013 release would not make it into Take Two's fiscal 2013 prediction
This article doesn't say anything different that what I've already read and what I've always thought to begin with: It most likely isn't coming out in 2012 because Rockstar has typically only released 1 major console title per year this gen. Plus, Max Payne 3 has already gotten off to a great start sales wise and at the rate it's already sold, it'll probably sell a few more million copies before the end of this year, so I imagine Rockstar is in no hurry to release GTA5 this year anyway when GTA5 can be saved for next year to Super Size their 2013 financials. Even if GTA5 was announced for 2012, $5 bucks says it'll be delayed just like virtually all of Rockstar's titles this gen after it was dated: (GTA4 was delayed from '07 to '08, the first GTA4 DLC & GTA China Town Wars was supposed to come out Fall '08 and got pushed to early '09, Max Payne 3 was orginally slated for March 2012 and ended up coming in May (and that doesn't include the other multiple delays it had while still in development when it was Originally announced for Winter 2009!), L.A. Noire went through several delays, etc... I'd love for GTA5 to come out this year, but I really doubt it and just going by Rockstar's delay track record, I don't think a Fall 2012 release date would stay 'etched in stone' and would probably just get pushed up to 2013.
Did I say I worked there nope I just no a certain person in rockstar London that told me it will be out this year to tie in with mp3.
Yawn. Hard facts or you're a liar.
Cool story bro, needs more rockets and shit.
I really, really, really want GTA V to be out this year. So I'm biased. I think Max Payne 3 will have more than enough time before GTAV. In fact, I think once Rockstar starts advertising that the "Crews" that you form in MP3 actually will transfer over to GTA that MP3 might benefit from a closer release date.
I hope what you said comes true , but i really don't think GTA will release this year.
What I said about MP3-crew acrossing over to GTA V is true. In Max Payne 3, when you playing with your Crew, during Gangwars, TMD, or Large TMD, if your crew tallies kills/deaths against a Crew on the opposite team, the two Crews start a side-Fued. It is settled by one side getting 10kills of the opposite Crew-members. In small games, the Fued sometimes don't get settled
