That's it. Porsche on Forza? Time to buy an Xbox.

Disregard the irony in my name. You people rather look at my name than to report something against the rules of this website? What a backwards society we live in

You're either a bad troll or a good idiot. I'm guessing both.

Hoping someone dies is worse than admitting that you eat children?

Really, People?
Okay, first of all, he wished death on a company, not an individual. And while that company's death would result in the regrettable loss of many jobs, it's not something to get up in arms and report people about. I mean hell, what are you so sensitive about? Afraid EA's corpse will be left at your feet?

Second, you can't say "despite the irony" and expect to be taken seriously. Regardless of the content of your post, the first thing people will know about you is your name. And if you think that the comment grzajabarkus made is offensive, you should abhor your own screenname, delete it, and get a new one immediately. Until you do, don't dare utter the word "backwards."

@gtr_loh: Although things were a little different for this game, Forza has always had Porsche in the stables. It just took longer than usual this time, thanks to EA.

And, finally on topic, I'm glad Forza's getting something they should have had in the first place. My sentiments somewhat echo grzajabarkus in my disdain for the crappy tactics EA pulled in not allowing Porsche to be available from the start.

I swear context, common sense and logic are sometimes (read:frequently) lost on the majority of N4G goers.

Doesn't it seem
a little wierd that Porsche couldnt b in the game due to an EA deal, but now that the deal is expired and Forza gets Porsches, we have to pay for them? Did Microsoft/Turn 10 have to pay to get Porsches back in Forza and pass the cost on to consumers, or just took advantage of the situation to make some $$?
Forza_is_King  +   361d ago
Does it really matter? It wasn't in the game when the game launched. When Forza was permitted to use Porsche as a licensed vehicle, Turn 10 still had to pay their employees to model and render all the cars. Resources were still expended to create the content. Why should the DLC be free?

Gamers think they have some kind of entitlement, it's sickening. It's there as DLC content for the fans. Those who are not fans and don't care about Porsche don't need to buy it.

I for one have no problem with paying for the content as it was never suppose to be in the game anyways. This is an added bonus to car enthusiasts who would have never had the chance to use Porsche had it not been for MS and Turn 10 coming to some kind of deal or arrangement with EA.

Kudos to MS and Turn 10 for going out of their way and managing to get the content from EA so as us gamers who enjoy racing sims can use Porsche.

Maybe what the problem is, is that certain other companies don't care enough to go out of their way for their consumer base to get this kind of content.

Geez, now you're resorting to flat-out lying?

EVERY Forza game has had Porsche. Forza 4 lacked them only because they couldn't reach a deal in time with EA. It was pretty big news, so I doubt you've forgotten.

Here's a quote from Dan Greenawalt:

"This kills me...Since the beginning of the Forza franchise, the Porsche license has been available only through a sub-licensing deal with EA. In Forza 3, we were able to feature more than 35 different Porsche models by offering to collaborate with EA. For Forza 4, we were looking forward to adding even more Porsche cars. In the end, however, EA couldn't see their way towards collaborating again.

"We've asked our contacts at EA to reconsider their position frequently and regularly over the last 18 months. We also reached out to various influential people in gaming to lobby on our behalf, and on your behalf, but that was to no avail."

The source? Here you go: http://xbox360.ign.com/arti...

But you're right. Turn10 was never intending to have Porsche in the game. This guy and the article he's quoted in are obviously lying.

You think they waited until they got the license to render the cars? Yeah, okay.

I'm glad Forza finally got the cars and all, but damn, let's not be ignorant, shall we?

The Highest rated Racing sim franchise "SINCE LAUNCH" and the highest rated racing franchise this generation just keeps getting better.

Can't wait to play using Porsche once again. Thanks to MS and Turn 10 for going out of their way to give what the gamers and true car enthusiastic want. So many people bash MS but this here is clearly an act of MS spending money to get content for their Xbox 360 consumers who wanted Porsche in their Forza 4. It's nice to see a company spend money and go out of their way just for their consumers.

I wonder why certain other companies don't do the same thing for their consumer? Or maybe they are, you can never have enough Audi R8's, or Ford Focuses or Honda Civic's, or Honda NSX's, or Honda S2000's or Skylines or Mazda MX5's or Maxda RX 7's.....

GT5
8 Audi R8's
8 Mitsubishi GTO's
8 Mitsubishi FTO's
11 Ford Focus
12 Mitsubishi 3000GT
12 Chevrolet Corvette's
13 Honda Civic's
13 RX-7
13 Nissan Fairlady Z's
16 Honda NSX
18 Honda S2000
21 Mazda MX-5
26 Mitsubishi Lancers
27 Impreza's
56 Skylines

OUCH..... maybe you can.

Well, it's nice that Forza has the cars that people ACTUALLY want from manufactures that actually matter so that car enthusiasts actually have diversity in choice without the constant clones of the same car over and over and over and over and.....well just looking at that short list of cloned cars, I think you get the picture.

Forza 4- only 2.19 million sold
Gran Turismo 5- 7.57 million sold

Looks like people would rather have the cars in GT5.

Forza 3 sold over 5 million copies so why did Forza 4 see such a HUGE decline in sales? GT5 sold more than Forza 3 and Forza 4 COMBINED.
FordGTGuy  +   360d ago
People would also rather listen to Justin Beiber and watch Jersey Shore also I guess?

Also I would like to see the online gameplay numbers compared between the two games I wouldn't be surprised if Forza players have played more online and offline hours than GT5 players.

People bought Gran Turismo 5 because it was Gran Turismo 5, people bought Forza Motorsport 4 because it looked like a great game.

Forza Motorsport 4 has only been out for 6 months the Forza Motorsport 3 sales number you are using is over 2 years of sales in comparison. There has yet to be a big Forza bundle to sell a bunch of copies with.

Sales =/= Quality

haha FordGTGuy, that's hilarious. People always bring up that dumb argument about justin bieber. It's always about bieber.

Forza and GT are racing games. Why the hell would someone bring up bieber and jersey shore when someone mentioned the SALES of RACING GAMES? Forza IS justin bieber and jersey shore, because FM clearly sells better in the US than GT even though GT still sells more, while GT sells better EVERYWHERE else. Don't you think more of us Americans like JB and Jersey Shore than the rest of the world?

Great job, but not.

Gran Turismo is older than Justin Bieber. Forza is not older than the Beebs. Gran Turismo is more serious than Jersey Shore. Forza's Top Gear Football and unusable Warthog is JUST AS serious as the Jersey Shore show.

Gran Turismo is more mature than Forza due to the long development times and historical, revolutionary significance, whether or not you like the games or only dislike GT5, more work and content was clearly put into GT5 with the weather, time change, course maker, and different road surfaces to drive on being the few examples. three F1's, NASCAR, karting.

Not to mention, Gran Turismo has been THEE major sponsor of the "Nurburgring 24 Hours" since 2007.

Sales doesn't equal quality. That's true. Your opinion is wrong in this case though. GT and FM are the most similar "sim" racing games out of any other racing games out there. They're so alike in their genre that the consistent sales GT5 has made for the past 19 months are a sign of quality. GT5 has been selling more than 25k a week for over a year now. Now that GT5's being bundled to a wider market (not just France), GT5 has outsold FM4 by over 170,000 sales THIS YEAR alone.

GT5 19 months - FM4 8 months

It doesn't mean FM is a bad series. It means that GT is the better series.

21 Mazda MX-5

27 Impreza's
56 Skylines "

It was just as bad in GT4, Genius. Great argument when we knew for years that GT5 would have this many of the same model cars. I bet he counted the skylines from the '60s and '70s too. pssh Genius lol

"8 Audi R8's"
Four of them are race cars, Genius.
lmao you counted the "non-R8's", the Nissan R89C Race Car '89 and the Ford 2000 Ford Falcon XR8 '00. The only two normal R8's are the 4.2L/V8 and 5.2L/V10 models.

Ctrl + F, then Search R8 or whatever other car name.
http://us.gran-turismo.com/...

"27 Impreza's
26 Mitsubishi Lancers"
A bunch of them are rally cars, Genius.

"12 Chevrolet Corvette's"
Classics, new models, and race cars.

"13 Nissan Fairlady Z's"
lmao that includes the 350z/370z, one car from the '60s, two from the '70s, a few 300zx's, and a race car.

"13 Honda Civic's"
Old as hell, old, and new models of that car.

"11 Ford Focus"
Liar.

There are only...

- Ford Focus Rally Car '99

- Ford Focus RS '02

- Ford Focus ST '06

- Ford Focus ST170 '03

- Ford Focus RS WRC 07 '08

Two Focus's are rally cars and three are normal cars.

"21 Mazda MX-5"
There are more Miata's than that, Genius.

Anything from that page on is how the detailed the Standard cars are now. They're not as "fully" detailed as that during gameplay, but at least people can't say that they're as bad looking as they desperately try to make it seem. During gameplay, the Standard cars look purrty.
