From the PlanetXbox360.com feature review:
"The last time we saw Max Payne, he was still trying to shrug off the pain and misery that came from Rockstar’s Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne, which did pretty good on the Xbox and PlayStation 2 platforms. Since that time, the developers at Remedy have moved on to more mysterious terrain with the Alan Wake games. Rockstar, however, felt that Max’s story still had a bit more to tell – outside of the awful Hollywood film that had been released years before. (You can thank Mark Wahlberg and a PG-13 rating for that.) So, to kind of show you where he’s been, the company has released the long-awaited Max Payne 3, a game that shows you a different side of the long-suffering cop, while at the same time delivering the kind of action and story he’s become known for."
