(PS3, Sorcery)
2/6
This "review" is horrible. First of all, why in the world is the score out of 6? Secondly, he makes no legitimate arguments, continuously compares the game to other hardware (honestly why?) and the reviewer seems to have a grudge against it.
FOR ANYONE INTERESTED IN THIS GAME, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU CHECK OUT OTHER REVIEWS FIRST!
Been playing for a week and a half now and I can honestly say this is the best Move title yet. IDK what this guy went into and why he compared it to Harry Potter I have no idea because beside the wands (OMG Harry Potter invented wands!! /S) there is nothing similar to this game than to HP.
Auto-aim? Yeah the game has it, but it's not a problematic thing and if anything it's extremely helpful.
calm down its just 1 opinion... Yeah, scores can tend to vary greatly especially on motion controlled games, you guys are so quick to turn on reviewers when you disagree, if you disagree fair enough, but at least debate the negatives with reasonable logic to back your point....implying its a bad review because he compared it to HP doesnt make sense, lots of reviews compare said game to a past game because it gives the reader a reference point of what the reviewer has in mind, never does that mean the reviwer is stating the previous game invented it, some of the best reviews Ive read used comparisons to older games. lol, for somone who has played the game to knock a review with a comment like "the story isnt even bad either" isnt exactly a vote of confidence. Also why does a 2 out 6 matter regarding creditability? Either way its just a % score, theres a whole world out there beyond our borders and the beauty is people from other places do things differently. Again I like when people disagree, especially when they've played the game but making up ridiculous excuses just to dicredit a review is very transparent.
It's not true. well their Opinion is. Normally I can respect anyone opinion no matter if I agree or not, but this score isn't justifiable. no way is this a 2/6 or a 33%. To me that's saying the game is unplayable, which it is not even close. The story isn't even bad either.
BTW at people saying they never heard this site. TBH they are somewhat of a well established site judging from their Alexa http://w3spy.org/site/press...
After the playing this game for a few hours, I can't agree with this review. It's an easy 4/5 in my book. The move controller works well with this game and I've been having fun with this game. The only issue I had with the game was the frame rate drop when casting multiple spells at once. I'm loving the dialogue and the story do far.
The mini boss battles are engaging and requires you to mess around with your magic and stuff. You can't stay in one place, because their is always something or someone coming after you.
This is so far the best move based action adventure game I have played in a long time. Even though the recent one I played was Desmond's quest.
What I don't understand is why does he refer to the controls as Wii controllers and stuff. My 40 dollars was justified with this purchase.
I know reviews for this game can go either way being its a move game. But ill wait for at least 10 reviews then make my decision bcus i dont want to waste my money. Im hoping it is a good move title.
Sony handling of Move leaves a lot to be desired, the actual tech is very good but there's only a few games worth playing. I loved Move with Killzone 3 (much preferred it to the DS3 for an FPS) but after that, my Move has been collecting dust.
If Sony treated Move like MS treated Kinect, Move would already have a handful of great games. The tech is really very good, superior to a standard controller for FPS games at least imo.
No offense but most Kinect games are crap. If Sony treated Move the way Microsoft treated Kinect we would have a huge amount of below average bad selling games that barely work. Microsoft only managed to sell the amount of Kinects they did with the amount of advertising they did but the truth is Kinect is a barely functioning, below average, clumsy piece of tech.Disagree with me all you like but the only big numbers Kinect has is the amount sold. So Sony should treat Move a little better but not like Microsoft did with Kinect. That's even worse.
@ mochachino. Which is why I agreed that Sony should treat Move a little better. Hopefully games like Sorcery and Unfinished Swan will do just that.
I completely agree that most Kinect games are crap. I also agree fully that the Kinect is ill-suited for most games - as a controller, it is very limited from my experience unless it's a dance game.
My point was that if MS created Move they would have put all those hundreds of millions and hard work getting 3rd party support behind it and that could have resulted in some high quality Move only games or at least Move support in popular 3rd party tittles (BF3, COD, Skyrim, etc.). Move is great tech. From my experience with Killzone 3, it's much faster and more accurate than using analog sticks.
I think Move is superior to the DS3 when implemented well but the only game that did that was Killzone 3, Sony and 3rd parties have treated it half-assed imo.
Uhmm, despite what you or I think Kinect has produced some relatively good to decent games, more so than move, micro has actually made a decent effort supporting kinect with games like Dance Central 82, Kinect Sports 73, YS Fitness 2 77, and of course Child of Eden 84 plus quite a few other average games casuals seem to enjoy. I don't think there are any move only titles with similar ratings but honestly I haven't checked. Now what I really care about is seeing more kinect implementation like with Forza4 which is brilliantly done, then you have the GR Future Soldier implementation which I think looks cool, plus Ubi future games, so I'd say micro is doing alot better with kinect, Ill see for myself pretty soon, so yeah its more than just advertising, its Sony so far who looks as if they just tried the "mii too" motion controller with move since they've done far less compared to micro in fully backing it.
Oh here we go again, 1 bad review and suddenly you folks don't trust reviews..AGAIN, then as soon as the next "teh exclusive" receives high scores same folks of course tout Meta score as if its gospel.
Resistance 3 was great with the move controller and gun setup. Howeve I do partially agree with what your saying, but I prefer hardcore titles as allowed to casual game support like the kinect seems to be doing even if it is more commercially viable for the company.
I thought Resistance 3 with Move was almost great but the huge reticle and lack of down the sights aiming brought down the experience significantly. I was hard to have pinpoint accuracy when the reticule was almost half the size of the enemy.
Killzone 3 (with tweaking your settings was perfect) imo.
I'm glad Sony doesn't treat the Move the way MS treats the Kinect. I'm not a big fan of motion controls, so the heavy handed approach Microsoft has with the Kinect rubs me the wrong way. On the other hand, Sony has kept the Move as an OPTION, rather than their primary focus. As a result, we're getting a lot of games that we probably wouldn't have otherwise.
As long as they support it correctly, I don't mind it, but I DON'T want it to be what they spend most of their time and money on.
I'm really starting to not trust reviews anymore. I'm buying Sorcery regardless of reviews. I have high hopes for the game and I hope it does well so maybe Sony will invest more in Move only games. Third party devs should support Move alot more too. It's a great way to play games, it just needs more support.
I'm satisfied with my $130 purchase of the Sports Champtions Move bundle and navigation controller and I haven't even played Sorcery yet. There's more great core games to play using Move then people give it credit for, but I think devs can still do a much better job of supporting it.
Why would I need to rationalize my Move investment? I said I'm already satisfied with my purchase even before playing Sorcery. Move is a great addition to the PS3. If you sold yours, that's your loss.
It's only a $40 game and I'm pretty sure I'll like it. Santa Monica Studio has never let me down before. I've wanted Sorcery ever since it was first shown at E3 2010. I'm not going to pass on it now just because some reviewers don't like it. I want to play it for myself.
Is this game broken? Well we all know it's not, so why and how can it receive a score like this? Screw the fact that it's an opinion. It's unreasonable.

I didn't expect it to be a good game, but I didn't expect the score to be so low. Lets wait for more reviews from respectable sites first.

It’s just short of someone saying "I don’t like this game because I just don’t" even the games they do like are treated in the same way.
If GamesMaster and OPM have given the game 82% and 8/10 respectively then it can't be as bad as these guys are saying.
sounds like a pretentious douche bag to me
just saying

The reticule aiming before AND after the patch sucks. The patch was so lazy it was unbelievable. Shame on Insomniac.

Get real.
And ShaunCameron, the review was crap. It didn't outline the justification of the score properly.

Why? Just because a game on the console you champion to death didn't get the rave reviews that you thought it deserved?
Sad that sony doesn't point out that the pseye is the ps3's first camera, kinect is 360's second camera.
