Debuting in arcades in 1983, the fully animated adventure title was a revolution in terms of animation for the industry. While the gameplay, which boiled down to simple directional-timed button presses, left much to be desired for the newfound tech, Dragon’s Lair charm, challenge, and cast of memorable characters (Oh Daphne, you shall forever be the first babe of gaming) made every quarter pumped into a worthwhile investment."
