There's a huge difference between being passionate about a franchise you like and making death threats because you don't like the direction a game studio is taking that franchise. Yet this isn't surprising. Not when you hear the comments people make on online services like XBOX Live and PSN. Would people be so bold if the comments were attached to your personal Facebook account? Anonymity shelters them, that's why they act the way they do.

princejb1344490d ago

is just a bunch of nerds talking BS on the mic
i hate cyber bullies cause i in real life i bet they dont act or say things like that
im glad capcom didn't say much on the death threat comment they shouldn't waste their time

BrutallyBlunt4490d ago

Seeing as I already have 2 disagrees it's obvious there's a group here on N4G that are content on being disruptive. Did I say something that wasn't reasonable?

Army_of_Darkness4490d ago

If your someone that makes death threats because of a video gaming going in a direction you don't like, it's obvious your a loser and full of shit, like someone that will never be taken serious! so shut the F@UK up!
I don't like the new DMC either, but it ain't the end of the world. These dumb-ass's need to get their priority straight.

RememberThe3574489d ago

N4G needs to start showing who agreed and disagreed.

Hozi4489d ago

Im sure the losers who sent death threats to NT were hoping they could scare the dev. into not making the game....haha...so much for that plan. I'm actually lookig forward to the new DMC. We'll have to wait and see if it lives up to it's predecessors though.

don't mind the disagrees, there are people like that and this, i believe you know.

fei-hung4489d ago

I agree with the what you say, but Capcom are silly for ignoring the bigger picture. Let's face it, the death threats aren't as serious as the DMC franchise going to hell and costing Capcom lots of money.

Capcom needs to realise the reason behind the negative emails and the so called death threats. If they can come out saying death threats are wrong, they can also come out openly and say what they are doing with the DMC franchise is wrong.

Not saying one is better or worse than the other, but the principles are the same - if something is wrong, admit to it, apologise and stop making matters worse.

AtomicGerbil4489d ago

I agree that Capcom need to take notice of the hate, while death threats are unacceptable they certainly convey the mood of the fans that have kept the DMC franchise popular.

If they are trying to sell this DMC to the Twilight crowd then so be it, but at least be honest. Personally I don't like where it appears to be going, but I'll judge it when it's released.

And being able to change from a disagree to an agree.

I sometimes make the mistake of acting out of a emotional response, only to later realise that I should not have.

dredgewalker4489d ago

I usually don't agree with Levelhead but time this I think he has a point. I don't like the direction that DMC is heading but making deaththreats is just plain low.

"Whatcha gana do Capcom, get Megaman on us?!?"

ZombieAssassin4490d ago

Didn't you hear? MegaMan is retired.

Capcom Comments on MegaMan:

"Who's Mega-Man?"

xer04490d ago (Edited 4490d ago )

While the death threats are extreme.

Capcom and Ninja Theory should just focus on the game.
But judging by the news reports, they have taken the fan back-lash to heart. And this shows, with changes to the games story last year, and the introduction of emo Dantes' 'Devil mode'.

If Capcom gave a crap about DMC, they'd be developing this game themselves, or chosen a capable developer like Kojima did with Metal Gear Rising (MGR).

In my opinion, Capcom are about to learn an important lesson. "Don't f*ck with the fan base".

testerg354490d ago

You do know that a bunch of PS3 fans are pissed at how MGR is turning out right?

Double-D4490d ago

PS3 fans

I think Metal Gear Solid fans in general are annoyed over whats happened to rising. Don't just pin it on PS3 fanboys.

ShaunCameron4489d ago

I guees it's because

1) Raiden's the main character and it's gonna be a straight-up hack-n'-slash action game

and

2) it's gonna be a multiplatform game.

Man In Black4489d ago

People are pissed with the game because it looks like a pile of shit. Don't try and spin it, fanboy.

dredgewalker4489d ago

It's not because people are PS3 fanboys that we're complaining about the new DMC. It's simply because this new DMC is alienating the fans that made the series successful. I'm simply not buying this game cause this is not the DMC I love.

Publicity stunt at its finest. NT have been a bunch of attention seeking morons since day one. Capcom been a bunch of saps this generation. MML says hi. Screw you NT, screw you Capcom. Release this title and lets see if you can put your money where your mouth is...

Ranking the Devil May Cry Series

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Upon finally finishing Devil May Cry 5 recently - after it spent several years on my “I’ll play that soon” list - I considered giving it a fittingly-named Late Look article. However, considering that this was indeed the final piece I was missing in the DMC puzzle, I decided to instead take this opportunity to take a look back at the entirety of this genre-defining series and rank the entries. What also made this a particularly tempting notion was that while most high-profile series have developed fairly evenly over time, with a few bumps on the road, the history of Devil May Cry has, at least in my eyes, been an absolute roller coaster, with everything from total disasters to action game gold."

First to last for me...3,4,5,1,2.

VersusDMC4d ago

Me leaving it out should be telling of my thoughts on it. Better than 2 as a DMC game.

Still a good game though.

Exvalos4d ago

What a weird name, it's essentially devil may cry, devil may cry lol

Cacabunga3d ago

Best to good for me: 3, reboot, 1, 5

2 and 4 are trash, didnt like any of them.
5 has very good gameplay variety but i hated the foes.. it is just insects the whole time. Reboot has the best foes for me

Friendlygamer4d ago

3,1,4,5 to me, never played 2. 5 gameplay is amazing but level design was really disappointing to me, just a bunch of plain arenas, the story felt like a worse written rehash of the 3rd and the charater models looked weird ( specially the ladies ). Another problem with 5 was that there was not enough content for 3 charaters so I could never really familiarize with any of them

monkey6024d ago (Edited 4d ago )

2.
Dmc.
4.
5.
1.
3.

God DMC2 was an awful game.
And in case this isn't obvious it goes worst to best

Yui_Suzumiya4d ago

1 and DmC. The rest are unimportant.

DarXyde4d ago

Order changes depending on your focus. I tend to focus on gameplay/fun factor, so...

5, 3, 1, 4, 2.

I really didn't like 4 but commend Dante's weapon diversity. The retreading of old ground was pretty unacceptable to me.

But even then... Still more enjoyable than 2 for me

SeTTriP4d ago

This right here is my order as I thought DMC 5 was amazing and obviously 3 comes after 4 was great and 1 for the nastilgic value it holds 2 was so terrible that my local GameStop gave full refunds to people who returned it.
