ZTGD | Hauppauge HD PVR: Gaming Edition Review

Ken McKown writes: When we decided that video content was a must have for the site, we researched a lot of products before making the final decision. One thing that was certain, the Happauge HD PVR – Gaming Edition was also coming up when attempting to find the proper device to capture game footage at a decent resolution. Now, after several hours of video editing and massive hard drive space consumed with files, we couldn’t be happier with what this little device offers up. For the price, it delivers the perfect solution for sites like ours that want to deliver great looking video content from your high-definition gaming consoles.

Looks like this guy have never seen a Hauppauge HD PVR 1212 before. The gaming edition is nothing different from the original.

This is a review of the item. We have to approach it fresh.

You didn't compare it with the original, didn't give the specs and didn't give encoder details. You just talked of how pretty it looks. And you call a review of a Capture Card?

ZeroTolerance4581d ago

That is because I hadn't seen the original. I stated in the review this was the first I had used, and we got it because of its quality. Sure it is the same device with a packed-in cable, but this is the only one I have ever used to comparing it is certainly not something I was able to do.

We're certainly glad to add the official product details to the page.

Our review approach for this device comes from what our readers want to know:

Does the device work as advertised?
Is it easy to use?
What is the quality of the video that the device produces?
What comes in the box?

We aren't CNet and don't review a product like this the same way they would. As I said, though, adding the official product specs to the page with the review is not a problem.

Soplox4581d ago

Yeah but when you have a new version of a product that A LOT of people are using you have to compare it with the original. Why? cuz this are the questions people really want to know.

What are the differences between this and the original?
Should I buy this or the original?
It is worth upgrade?

We don't want another RTX 4080, but this lesser-known brand is releasing one anyway

Even though the Super is out, this Chinese brand is releasing a base RTX 4080 - and it comes with AIO liquid cooling and a striking design.
