As part of its annual Celebration of Games Week, the Bits 'n' Bytes Gaming team is taking a look back at the game that, once played, converted them to the videogame cause forever more.
Richard Horsefield for Bits 'n' Bytes Gaming writes: "I love Beautiful Katamari. I truly do.
Bright colours, happy noises, crazy J-pop nuttiness and epic destruction all wrapped up in a package cuter than Cutesy McCute, winner of 1997′s Cute competition.
(See? Even thinking about it is enough to soothe the soul and melt the brain so you start typing bollocks like that).
But the best bit is the dark, dark underbelly. Movies ‘for kids’ now are very good at putting in little asides for adults, but its just a continuation of a long-running cartoon tradition. Watch some old Tom and Jerry episodes for more violence, decapitations, and drug use than ‘kids’ should arguably be exposed to. Games like Animal Crossing have nailed a cutesy tone with a seething, dark undertone that adult...
After Xbox's announcement that there won't be any more backwards compatible games until the release of Project Scarlett, here's a reflection of what could, or perhaps should have been.
Not only would it have been great if Max Payne, Freedom Fighters, Nier, Blur and Lollipop Chainsaw got to become backwards compatible, it also would be great if those games got to have more games come out in their franchises.
Its not as backwards compatibity is dead its just been put on hold so all backwards compatibity game work on next xbox then when its released they will start up again, P.S I did finish Avatar: The Last Airbender – The Burning Earth

It may look all happy and cutesy at a glance, but when you actually consider Katamari's gameplay, it's actually rather dark. Very dark, in fact.

Neil writes "The latest Xbox Live Deals With Gold sale is now up and running, bringing a number of discounts to both Xbox One and Xbox 360 owners. But unless you've recently won a substantial amount of cash on the lottery, chances are you won't be able to justify purchasing each and every game that has been treated to a price cut. So which are the best and which are the worst deals of the week? Let us tell you!"
Why this one and not Katamari Damacy?
I knew about this game since before it came out, however I never got the chance to play it.
I'd like to try a demo if whenever possible.
